PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Project Name: Dockets.
Duration: 1 year-till date
Team size: 25
Environment: Core Java, JDBC, Perl, Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle 10g.
Description:
Dockets project started on 4th April 2003. Our customer is Thomson West, Content Operations for Dockets.
This project is about monitoring and troubleshooting the Automated legal publishing process for Dockets. The
downloaded files are run through different processes and finally loaded to the appropriate Novus collections.
Dockets contain cases information, attorneys and party names, calendar schedules, judgment information and
docket entries. Dockets are scraped from court websites through Data Capture scripts which have written in
Shell and converting into proper xml format which have written in Perl(in Legacy pathway) and Java(in new
Pathway) and finally loaded to appropriate Novus Collections.
Team handles the following 6 courts (Product):
 DCT Big Dockets
 CTA
 USSCT
 State Dockets
 BKR Big Dockets
 NY Docket
Roles & Responsibilities:
 Resolved different types issues in shell script which acquires content from court website.

3.  Worked on resolving issues in some of the scripts that prevented new dockets from
being downloaded.
 Worked on resolving issues in some of the scripts that prevented files from being
updated in holmes.
 Worked on resolving issues in the Perl Script which converts data form source to a
format understood by the publishing system
 Worked on resolving issues in the Java programes which converts data from source to a
format Understood by the publishing system.
