INTRODUCTION
SoundCloud is the world’s leading audio platform. Millions of
Internet users worldwide have access to the SoundCloud platform,
where they can listen to, upload and share audio content on social
networks. For 2 years now the Berlin-based company has been
experiencing considerable growth with more than 300 million users
worldwide. With a strong increase in traffic volume, SoundCloud
very quickly became confronted with the limits of using free tools
for measuring web traffic. AT Internet was chosen to respond to
SoundCloud’s increasingly advanced needs and to accompany
SoundClound in analysing its digital performance. Ole Bahlmann,
Product Manager at SoundCloud, explains that they chose AT
Internet mainly for the power of the solution with its intuitive
segmentation and advanced Rich Media analyses, but also for the
company’s expertise, human approach and qualities, as well as the
ability of the AT Internet teams to get together to work on their
project.
CHALLENGES
To detect the platform’s potential to steer SoundCloud’s digital
strategy.
SoundCloud’s“Insight”team is dedicated exclusively to analysing
online performance. The aims of the Insight team are to collect data,
format it in reports and then distribute it to every employee in the
company.
Darius Kilstein, Insight Manager, explains that his biggest
challenge is to steer the business in the right direction by
detecting the real potential of each functionality, each page,
each zone or each piece of content on the platform.
By using the AT Internet API to cross web data with other
variables from the information systems, the SoundCloud teams
have already carried out several development, optimisation and
test projects which have had a considerable impact on their
long-term marketing strategy.

THE RESULTS
Below is a list of some of the digital projects that SoundCloud
has already accomplished thanks to the AT Internet solution:
• Advanced usability analysis of the interface: creating behavioural
studies on user panels to rebuild the interface of the music
catalogue Explore.
• Improving the upload environment: designing a new tool for
uploading sound content based on the usage analysis (clicks,
uploads, cancels, etc.) and the creation of A/B tests.
• Optimising the Help and Support Centres: creating a more
user-friendly design and rationalising customer relations
processes which have contributed to increased subscriptions
and improved satisfaction amongst the user community.
• Relevant choice of technical tools used: identifying the
most effective and efficient streaming protocols by analysing
listening time for each browser.

Millions of Internet users worldwide have access to the SoundCloud platform, where they can listen to, upload and share audio content on social networks. For 2 years now the Berlin-based company has been experiencing considerable growth with more than 300 million users worldwide. With a strong increase in traffic volume, SoundCloud very quickly became confronted with the limits of using free tools for measuring web traffic. AT Internet was chosen to respond to SoundCloud’s increasingly advanced needs and to accompany SoundClound in analysing its digital performance. Ole Bahlmann, Product Manager at SoundCloud, explains that they chose AT Internet mainly for the power of the solution with its intuitive segmentation and advanced Rich Media analyses, but also for the company’s expertise, human approach and qualities, as well as the ability of the AT Internet teams to get together to work on their project.
