SET DRIVEN KEY
In this session, we are going to learn about
 set driven key
Set driven key is the most important tool for rigging. It gives lots of freedom
for mechanical and organic rigging. It works on the driver and driven
concept or as we call in the language of animators child-parent linking.
There is a driver that controls and the driven that get controlled. It helps us
in creating an amazing rig with the least labor.
Animation > key > set driven key > set key
As you can see into the pannel set driven key is been situated into the key
option and it also has sub pannel where you can select between key, go to
previous and go to last.

After you select the option you have to set the project where you want to
work. After that, you have to manipulate between the options and the
controlers
Like any other rigging tools, we have to freeze the mesh first with the set
driven key as well.

Before working on the same you have to at first do the freeze transformation
spo that all your values get a freeze and turn into 0.

After freezing the values the one that has been driven or get controlled has
to be load in driven and the one that has to be driver got loaded on the
driver.
After having all this settlement into the project you have to load the driven
than set the values into your attribute editor and set some parameters.

After that, we have to load the driver because if a driver will do any action
the driven will also follow the same. That means driving will give the
command to the driven. So both the driven and the driver is very important
into the set is driven key.
With the values situated at the channel box and with the parameters of the
attribute editor, we have to transform the values of the ddriver into or
viewport. That means the driver will give the commant to the driven that will
follow the driver and its action.

As we create the state its mandatory to select driver drove and the axis of
the both and then set key.
We can put the key on any specific attributes or on multiple attributes at a
time.

With set driven key we can not only key multiple attributes at a time but
also can key the same attribute of multiple objects too.

To avoid the jerk between the frames we have to smoothen out the
animation so the smoothing of the key is very important in between the
frames. With the help of graph editor, we have to do the same.

As you can see into the example that the body of the dummy car is the
driver but the tyres of it are driven. So if the body moves the tyres will
automatically rotate around its axis.
So with the help of set driven key, you can animate any inorganic models
either it could be an automobile, propes, non-living characters like robotes
etc. With the help of driver and driven you can adjust your parameters into
different translate values. With the help of both the driver and the driven
you can have animation and with the help of graph editor and dope sheet
you can have smooth animation in between the frames.

It gives lots of freedom for mechanical and organic rigging. It works on the driver and driven concept or as we call in the language of animators child-parent linking. There is a driver that controls and the driven that get controlled. It helps us in creating an amazing rig with the least labor.
