• Provide OpenStax link as well as other OER links.
Make Adoption Easier
• Encourage faculty to become reviewers and
editors:
• If a colleague has reviewed a book, we tend to be
more open to adopt that book.
• Our Faculty Senate has adjusted instructions
for textbook adoption to be OER inclusive.
Lead by Example!
• Our adoption rate increased from 2.5
% to 12.2 % in less than 1 year!
• Number of our adoptions is still going
up, especially in sciences.
• > 20 faculty in > 30 courses

Creating Successful OER Institutional Initiatives

  • 28. Make Adoption Easier • Encourage faculty to become reviewers and editors: • If a colleague has reviewed a book, we tend to be more open to adopt that book. • Our Faculty Senate has adjusted instructions for textbook adoption to be OER inclusive.
