The document discusses the development of electronic educational content and the proper path for this. It argues that previous approaches focused on digitizing textbooks or developing software programs, which did not fully utilize technology or allow for interaction. The ideal approach is developing a content management platform (CMS) that teachers and students can use, giving teachers flexibility to continuously develop and innovate integrated lessons incorporating their experience and expertise into a personalized learning environment.
10. The Modern Teacher System
MTS
An Innovative Platform
For Educational Content
For Schools and Universities
By Dr. Adel Khalifa
11. Introduction
The MTS represents the new wave for developing
Educational content in 1:1 learning environment of
the eClass Rooms
The Educational Content is developed to be
handled through this Innovative Platform with a
maximum flexibility for teachers and students to
interact with each other and with the most advanced
hardware equipments for eClass Rooms (Smart
Board, Tablets for students and Notebook for
teachers).
The following explains a pilot projectf for using the
MTS in eClass Rooms of 20 experimental Schools in
Egypt By Dr. Adel Khalifa

15. 1- Introduction (1/2)
The New Concept of Class Room Teaching
The modern techniques for eLearning is based on full
interactivity between the teacher and students in the class
room. The education process is now student centered and the
teacher is a facilitator.
To achieve this, class room is equipped with an Interactive
Board, a Teacher ‘s Note book and Class Mate PCs with each
student . Software tools provided by Intel for class room
management and enhancement of using the CMPC are used.
16. 1- Introduction (2/2)
The Content is provided in the form of an application developed
by Khalifa Computer Group named “The Modern Teacher” which
is actually simulating the old teacher’s lessons preparation
notebook.
The modern teacher manages all the contents (lesson plan,
Learning resources library and the questions bank). Under the full
control of the teacher this content is used through the interactive
board and the wireless network between the teacher note book
and the students CMPC
18. 3- Historical Background
Since 1995, Khalifa Computer Group developed its
first model of the Modern Teacher. It was adopted
by the Swiss Canal college of Pedagogical studies
and was sold in the market as a ready made
product.
Intel Egypt adopted the Modern
Teacher and presented a project
to MOE with MicroSoft to offer a
complete solution for
Teachers.
Dr. Adel Khalifa cooperated with Intel
To present a 1-1 eLearning live demo
(eClass room) during Alex Expo 2011
19. 4- Project Objectives
The main objective of this project is to develop content
for teaching Math for Grades 4,5 and 7 (first term). The content
will be used in eClass Rooms
The Specific Objectives
1- To develop Lesson plans for all lessons of the three grades.
2- To develop a Learning Resources Library for each lesson.
3- To develop a questions bank for each lesson.
4- To develop a special version of Modern Teacher to handle
the developed content using interactive board and Intel
Education Software stack
20. 5- The Math Content
The Math Content was prepared in accordance with the MOE
standards
According to the text books content is divided into units and
each unit has specific no of lessons
The Total Number of Lessons:
Grade 4 = 15 Lessons
Grade 5 = 27 Lessons
Grade 7 = 24 Lessons
Total = 66 Lessons
The Modern Teacher application was
developed and the developed lessons are
being added to the application.
21. 6- Types of Content Prepared
The Content Includes the following for each
lesson
1- Lesson Plans
2- Resources Library
(Links, Multimedia Elements, Document
Files -Images- Games)
3- Questions Bank (Data Base)
The Content Library is open for the teacher to add as much as he
wants in his own personal library. Teachers can also exchange
resources and lesson plans
23. The Modern Teacher System
The Modern Teacher System consists of two
components:
1- The Modern Teacher
It is a software which carries all the content
needed by the teacher who use it in the class
during communicating with Smart Board
and the students Class Mate PCs (CMPC)
2- The Modern Student
It is the software which carry the content
needed for the student on his CMPC
29. The Modern Teacher
Once the program starts it opens up
the main menu. The menu consists of
three main components:
1- The Lesson Plans Menu ( LP)
2- The Resources Library (RL)
3- The Questions Bank Menu (QB)
32. The Modern Teacher System
This control panel to the left
of the screen is used by the
teacher to run all contents and
activities for the MT
In the following, we will
explain the functions of the
main three components
34. Khalifa Lesson Plans KLP (1/4)
