Claudia Kincaid provides 10 tips for running away, including choosing a partner with complementary skills, sending a letter home to assure parents of safety, looking for clues around the house to aid escape, running away to a place where you can blend in with others, watching for sources of income, allowing extra hiding time when evading guards, and fitting the escape into a daily routine to avoid detection.
2. Tip 1 Choose your partner wisely...think about what they have to offer and what skills they can bring that you don’t have. (Jamie is really good at saving and budgeting money!)
3. Tip 2 Send a letter home to let your parents know you are okay. This way they will know you weren’t kidnapped.
4. Tip 3 Make sure you can your escape can fit into your daily routine. (We got on the school bus then hid out on the back. I knew --the driver-- wouldn’t notice us!)
5. Tip 4 Search for clues around your house that could help your escape. (Emptying the trash led me to an unused train pass!)
6. Tip 5 Run away to a place where you can blend in. (There are always school kids on field trips to museums!)
7. Tip 6 Watch for new sources of income. (The fountain was a great find!)
8. Tip 7 Allow extra time when hiding from gaurds. (We had a close call when they moved Angel!)
