- 42. THE CHRONOLOGICAL cv/RESUME The most common cv/resume State the qualifications in the order they happen (from recent) in Simple , Straight forward Ideal for candidates who have relevant experience and no inexplicable gaps between one job and the next
- 43. The Functional CV/Resume Doesn’t go in chronological order. Based upon competencies or skills. Used for career changers or those with unconventional work histories (or executives). Might say “Sales Experience” then list it. Typically brief with a simple list of positions held. De-emphasizes the importance of specific jobs. Drawbacks to this system (not so popular). Not common, but gaining popularity Used by candidates who acquired specific skills (communication, HR, Marketing) from different industries but not directly related to the target job.
