5. PVC PIPE
 Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe is made from a plastic
and vinyl combination material. The pipes are
durable, hard to damage, and long lasting. They do
not rust, rot, or wear over time. For that reason, PVC
piping is most commonly used in water systems,
underground wiring, and sewer lines.

sleeve that slides over the end of each PVC pipe at a
joint and is used to join the two pieces of pipe together.
Cap PVC pipe fittings usually are used to cap off the
flow of water at one point.

DISADVANTAGE

below 450C.
 At higher temperature, the strength of the pipes decreases.
Similarly ultraviolet radiation from sunlight as well as frequent
changes in temperature reduces the life of PVC pipes.
 These pipes are costlier than AC pipes but cheaper than GI pipes.
 PVC Pipes resist corrosion and degrade from chemicals classified
as an Acid and Alkali.
 Functional temperature is 200 Degree Fahrenheit.
 Light in weight
 Pipes are durable.

21. PVC Pipe Vs Cast Iron Pipe
 Cast iron is time tested, durable and quiet.
 PVC pipe is easy to cut.
 Use cast iron for large drain stacks and PVC for
vent pipes.
 PVC pipe is lighter weight than cast iron. It cuts
faster with a regular saw you'd use to cut
lumber. To cut cast iron, you need a cut-off
saw with an abrasive blade that creates a
shower of sparks.
