What is Glocal Teen Hero? Glocal Teen Hero is a platform that is exclusively for teenagers which recognize their initiation, creativity and enthusiasm so as to empower them. It is an initiation of Glocal- Khabar, an online news portal based on youth, education and entrepreneurship. It is an award night dedicated to the passionate and innovative teenagers who are working to create a ripple effect in the society besides academics. The overall purpose of this program is to motivate and encourage teenagers to step out of their comfort zone, be creative and nurture entrepreneurial thinking. Glocal Teen Hero India With the aim to initiate Glocal Teen Hero in all over South Asia, Glocal is bringing this opportunity to Indian Teenagers for their encouragement and development. It is a fully funded program exclusively for Indian Teenagers. It also acts as a great platform for teenagers to network with delegates from various industries in India It is an opportunity of life time, not only to the winner, but all the applicants, finalists and other teenagers to develop themselves through networking, collaboration and pooling of opportunities.

2. What is Glocal Teen Hero?
Glocal Teen Hero is a platform that is exclusively for teenagers which

It is an award night dedicated to the passionate and innovative

We build a platform to showcase their achievement and initiation
and develop a motivation factor for teenagers to develop a leadership
quality. Teenagers can compete and earn recognition and more of
them can develop an entrepreneurial thinking.
We provide them a networking opportunity so that their initiation,
achievement can be developed future. The Finalists are further
involved with various soft skills trainings and development
programs that would develop the leadership and entrepreneurial
skills in those teenagers.
One of the finalists is then awarded as the Glocal Teen Hero whom
we connect with hundreds of delegates from various industries in
India.

3. Monishwaran Maheswaran
First Wai Wai Glocal Teen Hero India of 2019
Mr. Monishwaran Maheswaran is a young innovator and a high
school student interested in mathematics and computer science.
Initially he has classified as a child prodigy. He has excelled in
several Olympiads and went to Harvard University to work under
mathematics Prof. Oliver Knill of from the University.
Additionally he have worked on a system using machine learning
to help the visually impaired people to navigate the surroundings.
He is also a TEDx speaker and gave a Master class/ Guest lecture
on Quantum Computing. He has also established a non-profit
“Do it for Knowledge “which facilitates in donating books to the
underprivileged kids, an initiative called Run for cancer that
focus on the life of children suffering from cancer.
He have been recently named as the goodwill ambassador for The
Akshaya Patra Foundation (Ms. Dhanashree BM of The Akshaya
Patra Foundation) and also has been featured on The Passion
Peoples Podcast.

4. India is the first country to host
Glocal Teen Hero Franchise.
With an aim to organize South Asian Glocal Teen Hero in 2020;
Glocal is moving forward to have Glocal Teen Hero in every
country across the South Asian Region to organize the first-ever
recognizing teenager’s platform in South Asia. The initiation
started from the neighboring country India.
Application process started from January 15, 2019, and deadline
was on 2nd of April and later followed with Press Conference on
February 27, 2019, in Press Club, Guwahati. The applicants has to
submit CV, recommendation letter from their school or place of
employment and provide the proof of their work they have
initiated, innovated or implemented.
Top 6 finalists of 2019 Batch were selected on the basis of their on
their applications, resume, the evidence and sustainability of their
work. They were also evaluated on their innovation, achievement
and impact of their works and later individually interviewed by the
Jury.
The event was held on June 5 at hotel Vivanta by Taj. In the event
there was presence of 250+ personalities from Guwahati including
diplomats, politicians, entrepreneurs, educators, youth leaders and
many more.
