1.General information
AXSY-SoM-SAMA5D3x module is a high-performance, highly integrated, low power
consumption and compact module with low price. This module is an ideal solution for
construction of a variety of devices, such as: POS-terminals, medical equipment,
industrial controllers, multimedia devices, and other devices that require a rich set of
peripherals and high capacity.

1.3. Description of functional blocks
1.3.1. Atmel SAMA5D3x processor
The default configuration uses Atmel SAMA5D3x family in LFBGA324 А package. Main
oscillator 12MHz and clock oscillator 32,768kHz are installed on module.
1.3.2. DDR2 memory
The default configuration uses DDR2 Elpida EDE2116AEBG-8E-F memory with 256MB
capacity (expandable to 512MB).
The physical address of DDR2 begins a 0x2000 0000.
1.3.3. SPI Flash memory
The default configuration uses SPI Flash STMicro M25PE80 memory with 1MB capacity
(The possible options are 128KB, 256KB, 512KB, 2MB, 4MB and 8MB).
The memory is connected to the SPI0 bus.
1.3.4. NAND Flash memory
The default configuration uses NAND Samsung K9F2G08U0C-SCB0T00 memory with
256MB capacity (expandable to 1024MB).
NAND Flash memory connected to HSMC bus with 8bit width.
1.3.5. The boot order for Atmel SAMA5D3x
By default, in BSC_CR is value - 0, it means that BMS-pin connected to “1” with 100kOm on
module. In this case next boot sequence will occur:
SPI0 NPCS0-> SD Card/eMMC (MCI0) -> SD Card/eMMC (MCI1) -> NAND Flash ->
-> SPI0 NPCS1 -> I2C (TWI) EEPROM -> SAM-BA monitor;
If you need to boot from external NOR Flash – you must connect BMS-pin to the ground (GND).

1.4. Description of connectors and signals
Module implemented in MXM-3.0 form factor. To connect to the carrier board, MM70-314-
310B1-2-R300 from JAE Electronics is used.
