IMPROVISATION?
A planned improvisation!
Theme is given and there is some level of
consultation with members of the group
about what is taking place
It thus ensures a better quality of work
given since time is allotted to prepare work

PREPARED
IMPROVISATION?
It gives the group time to organise their ideas and have a
structure which will be communicable with others.
Planning for a prepared improvisation should take about
15 minutes
A suggested strategy for planning is to take 5 minutes to
discuss the activity and 10 minutes to try it out before the
actual performance.

8. REMEMBER!
- Prepared improvisation is a planned piece
without a script!
- Take about 15 mins to prepare (5 for
talking about it and 10 to try it out)
- Have an agreed theme and follow the basic
plot structure to assist in development.
- Have fun when you structure your work!
- Don’t be afraid to think outside the box.
