Doorway of the
Historical District
of Valencia

ArchitectBachelorDegreeProjects
YEAR OF DESIGN: 2015
LOCATION: Historical District ofValencia-Venezuela
SIZE: 13.100 square meters
The overall objective of this proposal was to
design a Convention Center within the
proposed urban renewal area in the city of
Valencia-Carabobo, Venezuela. According
to the ordinances and current state laws,
with the aim of providing attractive spaces.
The purpose of this project was to provide
job opportunities for the industry and users
of the sector and the city, becoming the
starting point to stimulate the tourism,
economy and commercial activities in the
sector.
The Doorway, was determined by the
design of a Convention Center based on a
unified two block complex, which is
specifically represented by a draft project of
a 4 star Hotel and an Office Tower. The
Hotel project was presented as a draft
during the 9th semester; while the Office
Tower was entirely developed during the
10th semester and both presented as a
whole for thesis basis.
6
As located near the
Subway Valencia
Station “Cedeño”,
the “Constitución”
Boulevard and the
entrance to the
Historical District,
the project seeks to
concentrate masses
through the creation
of a large urban
space as an access;
created for the
comfortable path of
the pedestrians,
visitors and Subway
users.
The design concept was based in drawing angles with
the intention of creating spaces represented by open
spaces to connect each side of the city (Historical with
Industrial); the broader North side represents the
newer Valencia city.
VERTICAL CIRCULATION / MUSEUM

SMALLEST BUILDINGS
COMPLEMENTARY USES
Volumetrically the
project adapt its
form to different
heights depending
on its immediate
context, in order to
generate citywide
balances.
In each side
responds to
diverse needs; the
North represents
the city of Valencia
(a large urban
mass); opposite it’s
the South side
represented by a
lower mass density
such as in the
Historical District.

The management of public and private spaces was one of the
pillars identified in the formal and functional design of the
project, mainly in each of its facings. It was important to
express the definition and difference of spaces, to
complement the building concept and allow the users to
differentiate between public or private spaces. The first levels
of each of the towers were determined for public uses
(commercial areas) for the enjoyment of pedestrians and
visitors. The rest of the floors were determined only for
private uses.
ArchitectBachelorDegreeProjects
8
Functionally is divided into three (3) stages:
1. The first four (3) levels of the building were proposed as commercial use to generate it as the public
spaces of the Tower, it’s determined by 42 commercial locals that are constantly getting direct
contact with the terms and activities established for the “Constitución” Boulevard.
2. The fifth level (+24.00 meters high) was physically determined as an intermediate level; its
function is to generate a filter or a transition space between the public and the private activities. In
this level 2 multipurpose and rent halls are developed.
3. Represents the private area of the Tower (+32.00 meters high), determined by the offices which at
the same time are sub-divided into: 36 rental offices and 9 corporate offices

The project was based
on the sector’s needs.
Lack of sociocultural
spaces promotes the
intention of designing
a Cultural Park,
specially aimed to
serve "La Entrada"
population.

LOCATION: “La Entrada” Naguanagua, Valencia-Venezuela

Spatially, the design
comes from the drawing
of certain rotary axes
from the main central
square; at the same
time, secondary plazas
begin to take its own
places across the
developed pedestrian’s
fluid traffic. Meanwhile,
the pedestrian’s traffic
design was determined
by two intersected

Conceptually the design was
based on the drawing of
circular/organicelements and
forms. The management of
green areas and open spaces
were generated to provide
feelings of relaxation and
concentration to pedestrians
and park users; adding to it,
implementation of pergolas and
permeable elements offer the
project controlled lighting and
natural ventilation.

ArchitectBachelorDegreeProjects
The project design was based on the needs of the sector, lack of
health care uses promotes the intention of creating a Healthcare
Medical Center especially focused for "Las Acacias" population.
Determined by public activities areas such as: Public and private
parking for clinic staff, Emergency area, Laboratories,
Commercial area, General Services, Administration area, Snack
bar, Consulting rooms and Pharmacy. Inside, private activities are
developed too: Anatomy pathology, Hospitalization, Kitchen,
Laundry, Teaching area, General store and a Operating Room.
YEAR OF DESIGN: 2014
LOCATION: Las Acacias, Valencia-Venezuela
SIZE: 3.035,80 square meters
14
Being a project that requires proper functional
design management the concept was based on
the separation of private and public uses;
meanwhile, the main vertical circulation’s
building (private and public) was located on the
axis.

Volumetrically each
buildings seeks to
convey their own
languages; the public
one was generated with
a rectangular design,
just to make sure to
properly distribute all its
internal spaces.
Otherwise, the private
drawing was based on a
rectangle too, however,
one corner was slightly
affected by a circle with
the intention of
