This document summarizes interviews conducted as part of an assignment to understand user needs. 7 people were interviewed about their exercise behavior, social interactions, use of technology and resources. Key findings include:
1) Users find current health monitoring technologies like fitness watches too complicated and provide too much unusable data.
2) There is a tension between embracing technology and a desire to limit its role in daily life through behaviors like disconnecting at dinner.
3) Simplifying the integration between humans and computers, and extracting only the most useful information, could help address issues people have with existing technologies being too complex.
