Welcome è un progetto di inclusione sociale che si è sviluppato nel comune di Pioltello (Mi) Italy dal 2010 al 2013 partendo dalle scuole dell'infanzia e primaria del quartire "Satellite".
I bambini iscritti nel primio anno di partenza del progetto avevano per l'83% almeno un genitore straniero proveniente da 88 stati del mondo.
Il progetto ha lavorato al fine di favorire l'inclusione internamente alla scuola (tra insegnanti, alunni e genitori) e tra scuola e territorio (spesso la scuola è l'unica istituzione che le famiglie incontrano necessariamente). Il lavoro di accoglienza sviluppato ha permesso il rafforzamento delle competenze degli insegnanti, la nascita di un gruppo genitori, la realizzazione di iniziative tra territorio e scuola.

2. WELCOME - a three year project financed by the CARIPLO Foundation
ended in June 2013.
The project was born in 2010 to answer the needs of the Third School
Complex in Pioltello. WELCOME was conceived and developed by the
School and the Social Cooperative MILAGRO which collaborated as a
partner.
The social cooperative MILAGRO has been working in an area east of
Milan. Its main purpose is to create new social services for the young
and their families and manage them in collaboration with local
government and other voluntary or non-profit organizations.

3. PIOLTELLO is a town of 37.000 inhabitants.
23% of the local population is from 88
different countries.
WELCOME was set up in the Primary
school and Kindergarten of “E. Bontempi”
School Complex located in a
neighbourhood called SATELLITE.
800 students attend this School Complex every year. 83% of them are
foreign nationals.
