The document summarizes the first maxillofacial surgical skill competition held in the country. It describes the two modules - soft tissue suturing and hard tissue fixation. For the first module, trainees sutured incisions on chicken and were evaluated on skills and theory. For the second module, trainees performed open reduction and internal fixation on fractured human mandibles and were evaluated. International faculty helped judge the competition which aimed to advance simulated surgical learning for trainees. Winners were recognized at the end. The competition organizers believe this type of event can shift paradigms for advanced simulated training.
