4. Process of dying
1. Scouring : removal of wax
Chemical used = castic soda + weting
agent + soda ash
at water temperature 80*C for
atleast 30 minutes
And for neutralizing the alkali we do acetic
wash

5. Formula of scouring
 Weight of yarn x % of shade (ml)
100
1. 2% of castic soda
2. 1% of soda ash
3. 0.5% of soap
4. 0.5% of wetting agent

6. 2. Bleaching : whitening process
 Through hydrogen
peroxide
 Chemical used : wetting
agent (0.5%) + soda ash
(1%) + H2O2 (3%)
OR only peroxide
Then heat it for 30 minutes at
100*C
then hot wash for 10 minutes
Peroxide killer and then finish it
with cold wash .
4-6% of H2O2 is used for full
bleach
 Through hypo chloride
 Chemical used : bleaching
powder
in cold water for 60 minutes
Then 2-3 cold wash and it is
done
In this process yarn is less
whiter
then hydrogen peroxide
process .
4gpl is used for full bleach and
2gpl is for semi bleach

7. Dying formula
Weight of yarn x %of shade

Cal. Of colour : let the shade be 0.5%
and weight of yarn be 20gm

10. REACTIVE DYE
 Process of cold water :
o Soke yarn in cold water
o Add stock solution in same water
o Add salt and soda ash
o Stir and keep it for atleast 45 minutes at
80*C
o Soaping in hot water and cold wash

11.  Process of hot water :
o Soke yarn in cold water
o Add stock solution in hot water
o Add salt and soda ash
o Stir and keep it for 45 minutes at 80*C
o Acetic wash in cold water
o Hot water soaping and finish with cold
wash

12. VAT DYE
 Stock solution = 1gm hydro
1gm wetting agent
1gm castic soda
100ml water
Temperature 50-60*C
o Hydro for reducing oxygen for even dyes
o Castic to maintain alkaline medium
Further contain 5 methods

13. MIXED DYE
o Dip the yarn in acetic acid
o Stock solution of all colours according to
the %
o Stir and leave it for 45 minutes
o Acetic wash in cold water
o Soaping in hot water and finish it with
last cold water wash

14. FABRIC DYING
 For single colour the process is same as
yarn dying process
 But for tie and dye we have to first tie
the fabrric according to the design we
need
