Aspire approached this project in two phases. In Phase 1, we implemented Nagios network
monitoring tool and performed a comprehensive monitoring for 48 servers including 32 real-time
network devices. Once phase 1 was successfully rolled out, Aspire’s team were involved in the
phase 2 operations where we implemented and configured Nagios for 300+ data center devices.
The typical activities that are being carried out after the implementation were:
Performance management/capacity planning
Site monitoring of systems, networks and databases, Email, SMTP, Exchange, Print Servers
Tracking current network status/notification and problem history through web interface
Hardware Failures Notification
Surveillance of SQL, Exchange Parameters and whole business processes application
Monitoring of Storage Performance on Netapp
Historical graphing for SLA reporting purposes
