2. Nubia Red Magic 7S Pro Review
Introduction and specs
The Red Magic 7S Pro is an expert gaming phone, but it’s cheaper models are a well bet for utmost
publics 7S Pro out in China, just launched the handset for the global market as a inheritor to the
7 Pro. The slight advancements here merely don’t justify a new statement. The 7S Pro isn't a full-
fledged successor since many of the structures and hardware on the 7 Pro can be found on the
7S Pro as well. However, some important upgrades would make you want to get the 7S Pro
instead of the 7 Pro if you are on the market for a gaming-centric smartphone.
In spite of featuring Qualcomm’s latest and greatest chipset in the top it looks, feels, and performs
almost identically to the 7 Pro. It runs on the well-organized Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which is made on
TSMC's 4nm manufacturing process. The 7S Pro gets a fresher, well cooling system known as ICE 10.0
Multi-Dimensional Cooling System.
Design and Builds
3. Nubia presented a little different design with the Red Magic 7 Pro, thus it’s no surprise to get it
stay the same here. Both have solid, strong build with aviation-grade aluminum middle frame
and a glass front. The supreme noticeable change equated to regular handsets is a large metal
plate which covers down the middle of the back of the phone. According to Nubia, it improves
heat dissipation, though it causes a significant to the 7S Pro’s total load. Nubia has done a
decent job of covering the built-in fan. Aside from a couple of grilles and the distinct buzzing
when it’s in action, you wouldn’t know it was there.
The Red Magic 7S Pro holds a large 6.8in display, but it’s more solid than you might think. This is
because it uses an under-display selfie camera where no need for a notch. an 87.1% screen-to-
body ration is decidedly impressive. Expectantly, all phones will aspect like this before too long.
The side frame is shows as usual - the touch-sensitive shoulder activators are placed on the
right side, alongside the power button and volume rocker. The bottom side where the SIM card
tray exist in (no microSD card slot), the bottom-firing speaker grid and the USB-C connector. To
the left, you will have the physical button for gaming mode. It’s nice to have the headphone
port booked at the top, alongside one of two speakers.
Display
The nubia Red Magic 7S Pro structures a
large, 6.8-inch AMOLED panel with 10-bit
color output and can go up to 120Hz
refresh rate but no changes has made on its
successor. Though they take in a high
refresh rate, to some degree the 7S Pro
possesses. But it’s limited to 120Hz here,
whereas many gaming phones elect for
144Hz or 165Hz in its place.
Manually it can drop this down to 60Hz or
90Hz to preserve battery lifespan, but then
again the refresh rate still can’t alter
spontaneously subject on what you’re
doing.
To help counterbalance this, the 7S Pro has
the maximum touch sampling speed of any
smartphone. Its 960Hz, it can roll up to 960
times every second.
Battery life
4. The Red Magic 7S Pro pulls power from the similar 5,000 mAh battery, but we are pleased to
report a huge upgrading in battery life matched to all prior Red Magic versions, not just the 7
Pro. As there's no alteration in the display any, we would accept that some under-the-hood
changes in the software and the more efficient Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 have contributed the
most. Screen-on times are considerably improved as well. The video and web surfing trials
repaid good results,
Charging speed
The nubia Red Magic 7S Pro delivering with a 65W charger over the Power Delivery protocol for
the global market. That doesn’t mean it charges slowly. In fact. It's nothing but a Chinese
version. Within 30 minutes, the battery is completely charged, even though there’s no wireless
charging.
Speakers
As mentioned to before, the 7S Pro has dual speakers setup with a full-fledged. The stereophonic
sound is expressively improved than the typical smartphone – effective audio with a nourishing
hit of bass. An immersive gaming experience can be ensure, while many gamers will prefer to
connect headphones instead.
Software
The handset runs on a Nubia’s custom skin Red magic 5.5 OS based on Android 12, A notable
addition to this operating system is Red Magic Studio
Nubia has said that they will provide updates in the next year and a half/two years which are
security updates. It means that a major update of Android will be available during this period.
Camera Setup
Like many other Nubia sets, it uses three cameras. The
main camera is set up at 64 mega pixels, ultra wide
camera at 8 mega pixels and macro at 2 mega pixels.
The front facing camera has been bumped - 16MP,
f/2.0, 1/2.8". That's a really big sensor for a selfie
camera and rather the aperture, too. Since the Nubia
doesn't make any significant changes in the front
camera department, we get the same disappointing
quality due to technical limitations.
Since there's no change in the hardware, the quality of
the photo during the day is somewhat under whelming.
5. The detail is okay but the sharpness could be far better. Miserably, there's not a lot to say
about the ultrawide cam. Pictures have a limited dynamic range and offer washed-out colors.
Night mode also depend on software, it progresses low-light shots without making them look
falsely bright
Video recording
7S Pro can capture video record to 8K resolution at 30fps, while 2160p videos can go up to
60fps. The ultrawide camera still can't record videos, although, given its capabilities, it's not
that big of an issue.
Starting with the 4K and 8K footage, we see a pretty good rendition with lots of detail, exact
color reproduction, wide dynamic range, no noise and good contrast. There is very little room
for improvement here, 8K video doesn't really deliver sharper and more detailed videos.
Verdict
While this is a great gaming phone, there are a number of issues that may make users hesitate
before buying it. This processor provides a very good gaming experience especially with its
screen and high class touch sampling rate. Battery backup improves which is now comparable
to other flagship devices. But it will miss the ultra-fast 135W charging.
The most noticeable things are the display's lack of auto brightness boost, making it hard to
use outdoors, the outdated camera setup and the poor selfie performance. We can see the
dispute for current technological restraints of under-display cameras - that's a trade-off users
have to consider. But Nubia's reluctance to upgrade the older main 64MP sensor is
disappointing, to say the least, and the 8MP ultrawide camera doesn't suit a flagship
smartphone. Even if it's a gaming one.
