STRUCTURED CONTENT – GETTING COMPLICATED
◉ Genesys products are highly customizable – > 10 000 configuration
options in Genesys – stored, with descriptions, in XML files (10 756,
according to Cargo)
◉ Process:
● Script writes content from XML files to discrete wiki pages using MW API.
● Discrete pages live in a dedicated, internal-only namespace.
● Content saved in structured template format.
● Content is pulled into public pages in various ways: portal lists, query form, popups
embedded in regular articles

Authoring platform for writing team – not an open wiki for KM
Locked into early version of MW 1.16. We couldn’t use SMW. We could only use DPL. We have a lot of reference content.
Wiki let’s you do things that are difficult to do in other tech comm tools. Each terms lives in it’s own page. Writer can use a template call to pull in a term. There’s a query on each individual page that finds lists each page using the term.
