2. Target Audience Member
Our primary target audience would
be male teenagers/young adults
around the ages 12-20. They would
be fairly involved with most media
products, such as games consoles
and the internet. They would be
interested in films, specifically other
superhero films, and they would
possibly also be interested in comic
books.
They would probably have accounts with various social networking sites such as
twitter or Facebook, and would most likely spend a fair amount of time on them.
They would also have a YouTube account, looking at various games or movie
trailers/teasers. They would be less interested in sports than they would be in
films,games and music etc.
3. Tastes
Our target audience member would be someone who has a more
relaxed look to life, and spend a fair amount of time in their room
using various interactional media. For example they would watch
films, play games online with friends and possibly not stretch to
their full potential in things such as school work. Typically fairly lazy.
However they would also have a
social life outside school/college.
They would be a key part to a group
of friends, and would bring humour
and wit. Although typically instead of
doing anything productive, they
would most likely just ‘hang out’ and
waste time.
4. Media Interest’s
Music
The target audience tastes would be mostly orientated around rock/ punk rock and would listen
to bands such as Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 and Guns n Roses.

Movie’s
Their movie taste would be typical of a stereotypical male: consisting of
action, superhero, comedies, thrillers and horrors. They would either watch
them online via film hiring sites such as Netflix, or alternatively they could
Watch them on their games consoles. They would also regularly go to the
Cinema as a way of going out and socialising
TV programmes
They would be interested in American comedy sitcoms such as The Big Bang Theory or Two and a
half men, as they would enjoy comedy. They would also watch superhero drama’s such as the
tomorrow people, or the British, darker comedy, misfits.
5. Why would they watch our film?
They would watch our film because stereotypically our target audience would
feel they were missing out if they didn’t see the latest superhero film. Also
because the cinema is a common social past time, our male audience are
more likely to look for our superhero/action genre rather then a romance etc
when they go.
Alternatively If our primary male audience went with other males to the
cinema , they may also think that it will make them seem less masculine to
watch a romance/ drama film because these genres are stereotypically aimed
at women. For this reason when males attend the cinema or even watch films
at home they will look towards more blood pumping films in order to not
seem feminine, leaving them with films such as our own.
6. Audience Profile of Films
These are some charts taken
from the Pearl and Dean
website. This gives us a rough
outline of what types of films
are watched by which
audience.
It outlines age and gender,
among others things, and is
very helpful in giving an
insight as to who might our
film appeal to.
7. Age and Gender
We looked into
researching age and
gender and utilised
several textbooks,
for example this one
told us what types
of films are not
really, typically,
interested in.
8. Other Similar Films and Appeal
Hancock
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbns61YifDs
This film is a similar action genre,
superhero film with an initial anti-
hero. The research shows that it
appealed to more men than
women, and the age percentage
showed that teenagers/ young
adults were the most interested.
9. Other Similar Films and Appeal
Chronicle
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hGV2dL8bjQA
Again Chronicle is a similar
superhero film in which
even uses the main
character talking to the
camera as its opening
scene, like ours. This film
primarily appealed to a
male gender audience of,
similar to Hancock,
teenager/ young adults.
Mostly aged 15-24.
