writing reports, group discussion, lab book and record maintenance, chemicals ordering and
reporting to senior staff. Involving in synthesis of various multi step drugs.
• Handled air, moisture sensitive reagents & dry reactions.
• Literature survey of organic molecules.
• Perform reactions on a day to day basis.
• Preparation of intermediates / final compounds.
• Electronic lab Notebook writing. Documentation of Analytical data, literature paper,
review.
• Developed several cost effective synthetic strategies, performed wide range of chemical
reactions, including named reactions and Chiral synthesis. Design and perform the trial on
lab scale and analyse the results with proper documentation (mg to Kg product)
Improve the existing test method. According to range of that particular parameter.
Study & introduce new testing methods. To develop awareness in workers related to
chemical safety.
• Named reactions performed in various projects: Aldol condensation, Backmann rearrangement,
Suzuki coupling, Friedal-craft reaction, Hoffman reaction, Mannich reaction, Sandmayer
reaction, Sommlet reaction, Witting reaction, Grignard reaction, Fisher-indole reaction, Photo-
bromination of methyl ketone, Ulmann-coupling, Vilsmayer reaction, Pictet Spengler reaction
and Mitsunobu coupling. Prepared optically pure ( with % ee > 99 %) unnatural amino acids,
such as N-methylated amino acids, α-methylated amino acids, tetrazole containing amino acids,
Phospho-amino acids and bi-phenyl containing amino acids.
• Skill in handling specialized reagents, such as n-BuLi, LDA, LiAlH4, NaBH4, , Pd / C, KHMDS
,LHMDS, Pd(OH)2.
• Additional skill of making peptides and peptidomimetics, using solution phase (Boc chemistry)
and SPPS (Fmoc based) approach.
Salient achievements:
Acheivement at Zydus Cadila. :
3. Basic Research : Antidiabetic : Project : GLP-1
• Synthesized more than 150 bioactive molecules (both peptide & peptidomimetics) in GLP-
1 projects. Some of them were selected for advanced biological and toxicological studies
and currently two of them are in advanced pre-clinical trials. (ZY D1 & ZYOG1)
• Successfully scale-up two molecules, up to 1-kilogram batch size, for Phase I & II clinical
trials. i.e. ZYOG1 (Phase II) & ZY D1 (Phase I).I am prepared many long chain
peptides & its purification using by Preparative .HPLC. (Gherlin, Des Octanyl
Gherlin, GLP-1 analogue, PTH(Parathyroid hormone) analogue, insulin receptor
analogue, JAK-3 peptide, LHRH hormone )
• On Going Project :
Antidiabetic: Oxyntomodulin & insulinmemintic.
• Synthesized more than 100 bioactive molecules (both peptide & peptidomimetics) in
Oxyntomodulin & insulinmemintic projects.
• Purification of peptides by Semi-Prep HPLC (Schimadzu LC 8A).
