Calendar Service
Does This Sound Familiar?
You need to get a group of people together to
resolve an issue or complete a project ASAP
The topic will require frequent idea and file
sharing, as well as face-to-face meetings
The group includes internal colleagues as well as
external partners, suppliers or customers
You start by opening a calendar appointment to
get everyone together
But you also need to set up virtual collaboration
experiences – fast
How do you do this simply, all at once, and from
any device?
Introducing Calendar Service
Set Up Collaboration Experiences Right from Your Calendar
Use any Microsoft Exchange-
based calendaring application to
easily share your Cisco WebEx
personal room information and
create a Cisco Spark room.
The calendar service
automatically orchestrates the
desired collaboration experiences
Calendar Service
How It Works: Organizer
Eliminate steps and save time
Be more productive while mobile
Open a calendar appointment
from any device
Add the people you need to work
with and type @WebEx and/or
@Spark in the location field –
that’s it!
…and are automatically
added to a Cisco Spark
“room” where everyone can
work together prior to the
meeting
Participants receive the
calendar appointment that
contains the host’s WebEx
personal room information…
When it’s time to meet,
everyone can easily join from
the device of their choice
Calendar Service
How It Works: Participants
Be more effective and efficient when it’s time to meet!
WebEx: New in WBS30
Cisco Spark and WebEx
• Automatically create a Spark room after any WebEx meeting to easily keep the teamwork going
• The Spark room will be pre-populated with the meeting attendees/invitees and meeting title

Editor's Notes

  1. From a technology perspective, the are three major shifts underway Mobility: Sales of smart phones and tablets are now greater than all PCs. Android is the #1 OS for mobile platform with more than 1.3 million new activations per day. Apple has 775,000 apps in it store and 40 billion have been downloaded so far. As consumers bring these smart phones and tablets into their personal lives, they expect to use them as business tools in the workplace as well. They also want to access their business information from anywhere. But the range of devices and applications poses security and management challenges for IT. Video. Video represents radical change because it eliminates the challenge of time and space. Demand is growing rapidly—we recently reached an important inflection point in the adoption of video. Video usage accounts for 51% of all Internet traffic, and is projected to exceed 90% in 3 years. We believe video will become the default communications medium. Companies increasingly use video for an “in person” experience from anywhere. They’ll take advantage of tools to index, search and produce video in a way that is integrated into the typical work day. Cloud. Enterprises can’t seem to get enough of the cloud. Forrester says that 56% of respondents to a recent survey currently use or plan to deploy collaboration via a SaaS deployment model. They see the benefits of buying technology on-demand. It’s less expensive because you only pay for what you need. It eliminates operations and maintenance costs. It’s easier and faster to deploy and scale. And virtualization pertains to the desktop itself. Until recently, desktop virtualization only addressed data applications. It wasn’t possible to incorporate rich interactive media, mobile devices or real-time voice and video. But those are requirements today, so delivering desktop virtualization AND rich interactive experiences is a must. Transition: These technology drivers are disrupting business in significant ways.
  2. Our mission is simple: to put “no compromise” collaboration into every room, on every desk, and into every pocket. The focus is on getting the experience right. Because when it comes to collaboration – it’s not just about IT making sure that things are deployed. If employees don’t adopt your new technologies – how much of a difference does IT checking the deployment box make? Where’s the return on investment?
  3. Cisco delivers this integrated collaboration experience through a comprehensive solution set across a range of employee types, use cases, and business functions—for organizations of all sizes. Unified Communications: Cisco offers a market leading unified communications platform for enterprise and mid-market customers delivered in the cloud or on premises. The solution delivers integrated voice, video, mobility, and presence services across IP phones and video endpoints, mobile and desktop devices, and web and business applications.   Customer Collaboration: Cisco Customer Collaboration products create the foundation for positive customer service—key to building a stronger business. Engage more proactively with your customers, connecting people with the information, expertise, and support they need when and where they need it most. Conferencing: Cisco’s conferencing solutions help you bring employees, customers, and partners together to collaborate from anywhere with integrated voice, video, and content sharing  Collaboration Endpoints: Broad range of endpoints from IP phones and video conferencing to web, mobile, and desktop clients. Cisco endpoints provide a consistent user experience when paired with unified communications, customer collaboration, and conferencing solutions. They offer interoperability through industry-standards-based protocols and open APIs that are extensible and interoperable. And they can be delivered on premises, from the cloud or fused together to offer the best of both world. What we call Cloud Fusion. The collaboration portfolio is supported by Cisco and partner services to help customers gain fast time to value.
  4. What is collaboration? One broad definition is that collaboration is the act of people working together to reach a common goal. The common denominator is that people are at the center of collaboration. Collaboration could not happen without people. How do you define collaboration? Who are involved in collaborative activities in your organization?
  5. Here are some business imperatives we have heard from collaboration buyers recently: Reduce costs Increase efficiency of operations Grow the business—either with new solutions or by expanding to new markets Improve customer satisfaction and client intimacy Become more agile Win in an increasingly competitive market (for customers and for talent) These are just some of the top business challenges a customer may be facing today. Based on your customer relationship you may be able to add to this list or ask for them to discuss others. Ask how collaboration solutions are addressing these (or not) today. Leaders across the globe agree: Collaboration is integral to addressing business imperatives. You need to consider your collaboration investments in the context of those imperatives to determine what additional investments you’re going to make going forward.
  6. While collaboration plays a major role in top down business planning, the rise of the agile/responsive worker is underway and is/will have an imminent impact on your business. (NOTE: reference major news outlet articles below for validation.) These workers are operating in flatter, self-governed structures. They coalesce instantly into teams with people inside and outside an organization, and work with those colleagues from anywhere. This helps them react faster, complete deadlines in a shorter timespan, and juggle multiple project requests simultaneously. They are often breaking down organization silos and hierarchies, and moving faster than the pace of their company as a whole. We’ll discuss the impact of this on collaboration strategies in the next slide. Ask: Can you identify individuals/teams that are working in these ways at your organization? Consider the following: In the past, we did a lot more individual work. Today, our work has become far more interdependent. 67% of employees report an increase in work requiring active collaboration. (The Future of Corporate IT, 2013: https://cisco.box.com/s/qhq0pbrrsnqzo7eqms21 ) Many of us were part of a fixed, long-term teams. Today, the teams are far more flexible and agile. For example, the old way may been a multiyear strategic plan with stable reporting lines. Today, many organizations are involved in quarterly strategic plan revisions with fast-changing, matrixed reporting lines. In fact we are seeing more flash teams that are self-forming, short-lived, and focused on point-in-time initiatives. And we used to all work in the same office. Today, people are working from anywhere. 9-5 cubicles are going away. 59% of U.S. employers offer full-time telecommuting options. Society for HR Management, 2014 Almost 25% of employees are either remote or mobile workers. Frost & Sullivan, 2014 U.S. employers offering ad-hoc telecommuting increased from 45% to 54% between 2009 and 2014. Society for HR Management, 2014 It’s also no longer about just working with employees. A lot more work requires active participation amongst employees, partners and customers. 65% of employees indicate they must manage external stakeholders (i.e., outside their company) to perform their work. (The Future of Corporate IT, 2013: https://cisco.box.com/s/qhq0pbrrsnqzo7eqms21 ) 53% of CEOs in outperforming organizations partner exclusively for collaborative innovation, IBM CEO Study, www.ibm.com/ceostudy2012 31% to 33% of organizations are developing mobility strategies and policies to support communications with partners and suppliers. “The Expanding Role of Mobility in the Workplace,” Forrester, February 2012 [ASK AUDIENCE] How has your company’s work environment changed in recent years? What trends do you anticipate in your work environment? Additional reference articles: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/26/technology/why-apps-for-messaging-are-trending.html?_r=0

  7. A major part of what’s fueling the shift in the way we work is the way we now use technology in the workplace. Years ago we saw a trend called BYOD, which eventually gave way to BYOA because of the ease of access to applications on those devices. As users demanded more access, IT departments delivered solutions to manage and secure the experiences. E-mail and calendaring solutions were first, and then users started to request access to more of their content and work. Now, the next wave of apps are coming to the workplace. With the same ease that we can message, talk and share in our consumer lives, new apps are fostering simple team-focused collaboration experiences that broaden information sharing and communication across multiple people inside and outside an organization. And adoption is primarily driven by the agile workers/teams we discussed in the last slide. However, while these apps provide easy-to-use consumer-grade experiences, they often trade security and manageability that IT teams require. Ask: Have you been seeing this trend in your organization? How are you addressing it?
  8. Collaboration solutions and our customers strategy must adapt to the realities of the Agile Era. People are working differently. The places where people work are changing. Networks that we use to connect are continuing to evolve. [Click to Build Next Slide]
  9. [CLICK] People: It used to be about big teams and big projects. Now it is small agile teams working in a time shifted manner, on a short deadline. The next generation of employees are digital natives. The expectation is that the technology is simple and easy to use, just like their smartphones and mobile apps. They demand the same simplicity at work. [Click] Places. People are no longer tied to a single desk, they are constantly on the move. They want the flexibility to work from anywhere / anytime. With this flexibility comes an expectation for continuity of work as people transition between places. They expect premium Collaboration experiences everywhere. Whether it is the office, a conference room, a shared space, their home, or even a coffee shop. [Click] Networks are evolving. Applications reside in many different clouds and can be accessed from many different networks. This forces our customers to think about security differently. Software defined networks enable our customers to intelligently deliver, secure, and control experiences. Only Cisco can provide a comprehensive collaboration solution, combined with network intelligence, to deliver the capabilities required to be successful. At Cisco, we have a successful track record of identifying market transitions. Collaboration is at an inflection point - We saw it coming, and we have been preparing for over the last three years. We are ready and we are All-in!
  10. As companies make the journey towards becoming an “Agile Organization”, we expect to have individuals and teams at various stages of adopting new work styles and Collaboration tools. With this in mind, it's critical that we provide choice and flexibility in the Collaboration tools that people use to get their jobs done. Collaboration isn't a one-size-fits-all world. Unified Communications is well suited for 1:1 communications that is centered around real-time voice, video and instant messaging. Converged audio, web, and video conferencing is perfect for meetings with large and mid-size groups where the primary objective is content sharing and information dissemination Pervasive team collaboration incorporates the characteristics of all the other solutions, but is centered around smaller teams that need the combination of time shifted collaboration, rapid iteration, and instant escalation to real-time collaboration. At Cisco we have been on a three-year journey to deliver and simplify all of these experiences - and our Collaboration solutions just keep getting better. [Build] Logos With rapid iteration as a requirement, Cisco is leveraging the cloud to deliver new capabilities and tie them together with existing premise solutions for a seamless world class Collaboration experience.
  11. REALLY connect everyone at one time, in one “place”? This is what it is like to plan a meeting – and that doesn’t take into account anything else like agendas, action items, etc. My point is that the act of meeting shouldn’t be a challenge – it should be easy to bring people together to collaborate – And do it quickly, easily, efficiently.
  12. It seems like everyone these days are talking about making things simple. The trick is about making things simple even when what is really happening in the back end is really hard to do INSERT SIMPLE EXAMPLE – (Presenter – provide anecdote about how Spark is making collaboration simpler for you and the teams you work with – relay a personal story).
  13. In November 2014, Cisco continued its mission to make collaboration simple by launching a new initiative to improve the way teams worked together. The initiative was called Project Squared and it was introduced as a global trial to better address the needs of agile teams and agile enterprises. It was based on the fact that easy-to-use, mobile-centric solutions are integral to the way we run our personal lives, and that we need solutions like this in the workplace in order to make collaboration experiences even more compelling and familiar. Ever the thought leader, Cisco wanted to bring this type of technology to work in a different and better way. So we built the Project Squared experience around virtual “rooms” where users could not only send persistent messages, but also share files and have face to face meetings. This gave agile teams a place to quickly coalesce together with all the things they need to make progress, faster. After numerous suggestions, feedback logs, and observations, Cisco is set to embark upon the next phase of this journey with Cisco Spark. Product Walkthrough Cisco Spark instantly creates a place for teams to work together, where their work can live, and a way to stay connected to it all. It’s easy to get and use so that people – colleagues, business partners, anyone – can make progress together, fast. Users create rooms for persistent and secure messaging and file sharing so that teamwork is always accessible anytime and from any device. Video calling and face-to-face meetings with screen sharing help accelerate decision making in the moment. Trailer When you remove the technology from collaboration and put creative people together, you watch sparks fly. This is Cisco Spark and we are just at the beginning. We’re on a mission to make collaboration and teamwork simpler so you can do your best work together.   Key Features Securely send messages and share files in rooms that can include anyone working on a particular initiative Connect your mobile calendar and contacts to make it easy to add people into rooms and join meetings while on the go Preview files instantly in high quality to get to the important information fast Start a face-to-face meeting with screen sharing to accelerate decision making Participate from a mobile device, computer, or even a browser for anywhere, anytime collaboration Support for end-to-end content encryption so that so that only the intended recipients can read shared messages and files Enable users* to control who can add others into rooms so that messages and files can be limited to the right people Use a new administrative portal with Single Sign-On, directory sync, analytics, and more *Part of the Cisco Spark Message subscription The rest of this presentation will describe how Spark works, key customer use cases, how you can acquire it for your users, and the steps we’ve taken to enable a superior business class experience for your organization.
  14. What makes Spark unique is that it is not just another app. It is a service that is driven by a cloud platform that rapidly delivers innovative and engaging experiences for users, while maintaining high levels of security and connections to important existing investments. This helps drive continual value for both end users and IT administrators, so that IT and business leaders can focus less on how to make technology work and more on how collaboration can enable business process transformation. Our goal is to deliver a seamless experience from mobile to desktop to meeting rooms, while still meeting the requirements of today’s enterprise. To do that, we need a whole new approach to developing and delivering software. Cisco is uniquely positioned to bring together the hardware, software and network elements required to deliver on the promise of consumer sensibility with enterprise practicality. We’ve been investing in a new cloud platform- A new hybrid architecture, leveraging our WebEx and UC assets, focused on delivering consumer sensibility with enterprise practicality. The Cisco Collaboration Cloud is a modern Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform architecture built for web and mobile. While it will deliver end user ease of use and delightfulness that rivals consumer applications, we have also reimagined what it means to deliver secure, scalable and reliable Cloud services to the Enterprise. There are four key tenets of the platform: Iteration- Iteration is the secret sauce that allows consumer applications to deliver best in class experiences. To deliver that for IT, we need a platform that can move at the same pace. That means cloud software upgrades multiple times per day and client upgrades multiple times per month. Our next generation platform enables that with new processes, automated deploy and hitless upgrade technologies, automated testing technologies, and metrics. Fusion- Our customers have all kinds of Collaboration solutions deployed today – UC, video, contact center. They also have central assets – directories, calendar and scheduling solutions, etc. which are important. Fusion is the ability to integrate cloud services with assets on premise or in partner networks to create 1+1=3 synergies. By fusing the capabilities of our customer’s collaboration assets with our Cloud services we can create even better user experiences while also extend the value of their existing investments. Cisco is integrating directly with its market leading UC products, as well as integrating more deeply than ever with Microsoft’s Active Directory and Exchange. Security- We are in a new era where IT requires greater levels of assurance and trust that the cloud is meeting their needs around information control. Security is a key property of Cisco's new collaboration platform. The new cloud collaboration platform helps enable encryption at rest, whereby user content is encrypted by the client, and then transited and stored in the cloud in encrypted format. In addition, all HTTP traffic is encrypted by default (using HTTPS). Content is encrypted using AES-256 symmetric keys. Ecosystem- We are building a platform in which our Collaboration ecosystem of Partners, developers and administrators are first class citizens. We are offering a management portal where we've applied the same thought and care to the design of the user experience. Built-in partner capabilities include the ability to create and manage trials; track analytics and insight of usage of the product for your enterprise customers; and to manage the service on behalf of customers. For enterprise IT managers or the partners that help them, they can provision users, track usage, and configure elements of the service such as SSO and directory sync. For developers, we are building a platform that makes it easy to integrate- as demonstrated by the first integration built by Box.
  15. Cisco Spark – built with significant customer feedback and accessible from nearly every major mobile or desktop device - creates secure, virtual rooms where teams work together from anywhere.   We will be continually evaluating user feedback and making updates to the service. Here are the newest features announced in March, 2015, based on data and customer feedback analysis: New room creation experience. We’re making it even easier for users to pull together their existing teams right into rooms. A user can connect their mobile calendar, tap on any upcoming calendar entry in the Spark Meetings tab and create a Spark room for it – to give everyone a place to work together before and after the meeting. You can also use the Meetings tab to instantly join the virtual meetings you have outside of Spark. Any Cisco WebEx and Citrix GoToMeeting conference listed will display a Join button so you can easily attend from your mobile device. Room moderation. Subscription users can now lock their rooms to control who can be added, and moderators can designate others to be co-moderators. This feature makes it so that messages and files can be limited to the right people. Business/Partner administrative portal. This is the place for partners and company admins to manage the Spark experience. Company admins can quickly onboard users, connect SSO and directory sync, enable role based access, view usage reports, and more. Partners can quickly start customer trials and help manage their customer accounts, making it easy, through a single pane of glass, to ensure that a customer gets the most out of their Spark experience. A new Windows client. It’s imperative to give users access to Spark from any device, so they can participate fully from any of their work environments. We’ve now added a Windows client with a very similar UI and consistent experiences with the Mac and browser-based versions. This client also supports offline notifications so you can stay apprised of what’s new in Spark even when the app isn’t open. Additionally, this app returns search results for messages in addition to people and room names. This helps make it easier to find what you’re looking for across your Spark rooms.
  16. Our teams are scattered everywhere. Technology brings us together, but not always in a way that is centered around the people we work with on urgent, time sensitive projects. Spark breaks down the barriers to collaboration and makes it incredibly simple to get to work with anyone. As easy as sending an e-mail, get everyone together into a room by simply adding names or e-mail addresses. New users receive an e-mail to download Spark and enter the room. Spark delivers an easier way to work with all your teams. In a single experience, easily access all your team work spaces. The room list is searchable and is sorted in chronological order based on most recent activity so you can easily stay up to date. Set up favorites for quicker navigation. When you connect your calendar on your mobile device, you can keep track of all your upcoming business meetings. WebEx meetings can be joined from this tab with the press of a button. You can also create a room around any of your listed calendar entries so you and your teams have a place to work together before and after the meeting. The new room will be created with the same name as your calendar entry and include all the people from it.
  17. Improved productivity is the nirvana of any good collaboration tool. And even though many products today greatly reduce our project cycles, we are still clamoring for better, more intuitive user experiences that enable us to quickly get our work done together. With “Spark,” view shared files instantly without having to download them. This helps users get to the important details immediately, especially while on the go. Know that time you were in a physical room and someone asked you to take a picture of all the cool stuff on the whiteboard and after you do it just stays on your phone? Well, now you can take that pic and immediately post it to your virtual whiteboard in any of your Spark rooms. While mobile, simply tap to add a new or old photo or even a file right from your cloud storage sites (Box integration on iOS). Drag and drop or upload a file from anywhere on desktop and Web. Spark is truly the one place for you to work for many reasons, but most especially because your files and messages are stored in your rooms making it easy to review the history of previous content. Newly added room participants benefit from this greatly. Finally, Spark is available on virtually any device and even from a browser – with an easy to use and consistent experience across all of the unique applications. Supported Browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer 10 and 11 – An up to date list of app version capabilities and system requirements can be found here: www.cisco.com/go/ciscospark-comparison
  18. When you’re working together, there are times when seeing other people AND the stuff they are working on is critical. In Spark you can have a 1:1 video call with another person or initiate a meeting in rooms with up to twenty five (25) people (paid subscription only) to bring everyone together to gain quick alignment. Simultaneously view the active speaker video and screen sharing. During a meeting, “multi-task” by sending messages and sharing files while you talk. Drop in a note about the presentation or document you’re working on so you can easily remember the key points later. Finally, meetings can be joined anytime while in progress enabling you to participate when the time is right for you. You can also utilize this feature to shift locations in the event you need to move a call between devices.
  19. Privacy and Security of Content Only you and the people you work with should be able to read what you share. The Cisco Spark™ service uses end-to-end encryption with algorithms also used in solutions protecting national security systems so that only the intended recipients can read shared messages and files. Additionally, Cisco Spark service protects the confidentiality of shared content by allowing access only to authorized and authenticated recipients. This functionality restricts the viewing of messages and files in Cisco Spark rooms to participants who have authenticated with the service. Unauthorized participants that try using the URL of the room will not be able to see what has been shared.   Cisco Spark Encryption The Cisco Spark service encrypts messages, files, and room names on your device before sending them to the cloud. Thus, content arrives at our servers in encrypted form and is processed (data in use) and stored (data at rest) that way until it is decrypted on the intended recipients’ devices.   We use Secure HTTP (HTTPS) to encrypt data in transit between your device and our servers, which protects the identities of the senders and receivers of the encrypted content.   For real-time media (voice, video, and screen sharing), we encrypt what is shared using the Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP).   User and IT Controls In addition to end-to-end encryption to keep content safe, the Cisco Spark service also offers user- and IT-level features to provide additional security controls. When the teamwork is sensitive, subscribers can lock rooms to moderate who can enter and what is shared. Moderators have the sole ability to add or remove participants, edit the room name, and delete anyone’s shared messages and files. Moderators may also assign co-moderators. Additionally, subscribers see an indicator in rooms where external participants are included, so they can make informed decisions before sharing. IT teams can add features that use existing security policies (Figure 6). Use Single Sign-On (SSO) to require company- approved passwords that adhere to corporate security standards. Sync your corporate employee directory with the Cisco Spark application so that user profiles always match a valid identity from the directory. Thus, terminations are automatically processed from changes in your directory, helping ensure that former employees lose access to company data in the Cisco Spark solution. Security Specs End-to-end content encryption using Advanced Encryption Standard 256 (AES-256) Transport encryption using Secure HTTP (HTTPS) Audio and video calling encryption using the Secure Real-Time Transport Protocol (SRTP) Single Sign-On (SSO) to require company-approved authentication with identity providers using the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) 2.0 and Open Authorization (OAuth) 2.0 protocols. Directory sync for real-time management of employee lifecycle changes with Microsoft Active Directory
  20. @WebEx may be used without @Spark for WebEx personal room set up, only, when a team is already using a Spark room or then meeting doesn’t require pre/post meeting teamwork @Spark may be used without @WebEx for smaller and more informal meetings – at the scheduled meeting time, up to 25 may join in the live discussion in Spark

  22. Provides meeting hosts with an easy way to create a space for meeting attendees to send messages, share files, and stay in touch after the meeting in Cisco Spark. This space comes automatically populated with the WebEx meeting participants and a title. This creates a richer collaboration experience for teams. Instead of waiting for the next meeting to make progress, teams can continue the discussion from a meeting immediately after it is over. This perpetuates ideas and content in a place that everyone can access from virtually any device. For Cisco sales and partners, this seamless connection between experiences broadens the value proposition for Cisco’s new SaaS subscription offers. Q: Who can use the new feature in Cisco WebEx that enables the rapid creation of a Spark room after a meeting?   A: Meeting hosts using a WBS30-enabled site are able to use this feature. Use of this feature is optional; the host can click “No, thanks” or close out the prompt window and no action will be taken.    Q: Who is included in the Spark room that gets created? What do users see?   A: For scheduled WebEx meetings (one-time or recurring), all invitees are added to a Spark room with the same title as the meeting invitation. Guest participants (i.e. those not on the meeting invite) who joined the scheduled meeting via the host’s WebEx site are added too.   For personal room meetings, participants who join via the host’s WebEx site are added to the Spark room, which is titled using the host’s name + meeting date.   In either scenario, non-Spark users receive an email to go through the first time set up process in order to access the room. Additional participants can be included after the Spark room is created through the Spark interface.
  23. Spark offers are structured around how teams work. If you are an organization in the midst of a shift to an agile team transition, you are probably evaluating tools that are mobile centric and focus on persistent messaging and file sharing. Spark automatically comes equipped with that functionality and administrators now have the option to further secure the messaging experience with the Message subscription. It enables: Room moderator capability to ensure that users can “lock” rooms to control who can add other people Indicators next to the room name in rooms where there are external participants, giving users added levels of insights as to who is in their rooms so they can use discretion when sharing content Single sign-on (SSO) so that so that users can enter their IT-approved passwords Directory sync so that admins don’t have to manage separate user databases Live support Note: A compliance export is also available so a designated company representative can obtain a log of company messages and files in the event of a court ordered subpoena There is also a meetings focused offer. What steers a customer to one offer over another is: do you expect your teams to use real-time meetings? With the Message and Meet offer, real-time meetings become available right in rooms. Teams of up to 25 can meet and share screens right in the moment – right when they need to gain rapid alignment and accelerate decision making from any device. Additionally, Cisco delivers WebEx, the market-leading conferencing solution. WebEx licenses are part of our meetings-focused Spark offer. WebEx can integrate up to 1000 global audio and video users and includes a vast array of meeting tools and host controls. With the Message and Meet offer, teams now have a secure persistent team collaboration experience AND access to a top conferencing tool for larger, more structured meetings where key information needs to be disseminated to a broad set of teams and stakeholders. 24. This new experience for partners and company admins provides a single pane of glass to manage the Spark experience. Company admins can quickly onboard users, enable SSO and directory sync, determine role based access, view usage reports, and more. Partners can quickly start customer trials and help manage their customer accounts, making it easy, through a single pane of glass, to ensure that a customer gets the most out of their Spark experience. For admins, it all starts with very easy user onboarding. A guided setup steps you through integrating Single sign-on (SSO) services and sync with the company directory. SSO helps ensure users are required to enter their IT-approved passwords to access the Spark app and DirSync support helps ensure that admins don’t have to manage separate user databases. User and group license management makes it so that user entitlements and/or subscription tiers can be batched to certain clusters of users in one fell swoop. Role based access creates access and usage levels for different personas in an organization, such as admins, users, managers, etc. For partners, this portal offers a very easy way to launch a customer trial so that a new account can be quickly setup and converted to a paid offer. Management and telemetry may also be available to partners so they can help optimize their customer trials/deployments.

  26. Businesses, schools and governments are adopting mobile devices and moving beyond email and calendaring to the mobilization of business critical workflows.
  27. This partnership has three main focus areas - networking, enterprise voice and team collaboration.
  28. As company’s workers increasingly become mobile, organizations want to make sure business-critical apps have fast, reliable access to data to allow real-time decision making at the point of contact. The growth of devices and data on the network can stop that from happening, with the data from mobile devices increasing at a global annual rate of 57%.
  29. Users request multiple copies of the same data. This impacts the connection to the WAN and slows down network responsiveness.
  30. Introducing caching reduces the number of downloads from the Internet, reducing costs and increasing download speeds.
  31. Business networks have a wide range of content on their networks, and not all of it has the same importance. To prioritize business critical app content, companies will be able to leverage two benefits from this partnership. The first is optimized WAN usage through the smart caching of high bandwidth, redundant content.
  32. This will have a significant impact on the quantity of data users need to download from the WAN/Internet.
  33. IT will then be able to mark and prioritize voice, video, and business critical real-time traffic using QoS. Apple and Cisco are working together to extend QoS to include business app data, allowing organizations to determine which iOS business critical app content to put in the “fast lane,” enabling faster speeds for apps running on iOS devices.
  34. This combination of optimizing connectivity for iOS devices, improved caching, and providing QoS to iOS business apps mean iOS devices will perform even better on Cisco networks.
  35. The second area the partnership is addressing is enterprise voice.
  36. As mobile devices become more common as tools of trade within organizations, employees use their devices for all aspects of their work, including making calls. Over a quarter of all business calls are made from a mobile device, whether users are sitting at their desk or outside the office, even though mobile phones are not tightly integrated into an enterprise’s telephony infrastructure. The growth in the use of mobile devices for business calls creates an opportunity for Apple and Cisco to help organizations manage this transition.
  37. Currently cellular phones route their calls through the carrier network, while desk phone calls within an enterprise are routed through an internal PBX before reaching the external network. The PBX enables critical enterprise functionality for the desk phones.
  38. iPhone integration with the Cisco Collaboration Cloud will allow workers to use VoIP to connect to the company’s PBX. This will bring significant cost savings by routing mobile calls over the corporate network. It will also remove the need for many users to forward calls from their desk to mobile numbers, or leverage additional apps that allow connectivity to business features. This context switching prevents users and IT from realizing the benefits of mobility. By making the experience more integrated, Apple and Cisco will remove user adoption barriers and unlock additional collaboration services for employees on the move.
  39. Employees using an iPhone and working at companies that have Cisco’s collaboration service will have the important capabilities of a desk phone on the best-in-class mobile phone.
  40. The third area of the partnership is collaboration.
  41. Modern business workers spend 30% of their time in meetings or using email. This unstructured time can’t be addressed through business process apps. It includes making complex decisions and producing new outcomes that require high degrees of collaboration, but bringing increasingly mobile and distributed groups together to maximize teamwork is not easy.
  42. Mobile, cloud, and on-premises collaboration tools such as Cisco Spark, Cisco TelePresence, and Cisco WebEx conferencing will be combined with unique iOS features. This new suite of mobile solutions, integrating with Cisco’s infrastructure and products, will transform how teams work together.
  43. With Apple’s support, Cisco is building a collaboration experience available only through Unified Communications apps on iOS, Cisco’s video-enabled meeting rooms and Spark virtual rooms.
  44. We have looked at three areas of critical importance for organizations that want to use mobility to transform their business, and discussed how the partnership between Cisco and Apple can help. The results of the collaboration between these two class-leading companies will lead to: iOS devices performing even better on Cisco networks Tight integration between iPhone and enterprise voice systems running on Cisco’s collaboration services Seamless meeting collaboration for mobile workers on iOS devices, regardless of location
  45. Thank you for your time.
