What happened on 29 October over the years? We ask know 1929 was Black Tuesday. But on that day in what year was the first Internet message sent? What famous Englishman was executed, who has a city in the United States named after him, even though he never set foot on the continent? What plane crashed that changed history?
2. England. 29 October 1618.
Sir Walter Raleigh had been sentenced to death in
1603, but his life was spared. He spent until 1616 in the
Tower.
Released in 1618, he led another expedition to the New
World. Upon his return, for crimes committed during
the expedition, his sentence is re-instated.
3. England. 29 October 1618.
"Let us dispatch", Raleigh says to his executioner. "At this
hour my ague comes upon me. I would not have my
enemies think I quaked from fear." He asks to see the edge
of the axe that will behead him: "This is a sharp Medicine,
but it is a Physician for all diseases and miseries."
4. New York City. 29 October 1929.
This is the day called Black Tuesday. Panicked sellers
trade 16 million shares on the New York Stock
Exchange (four times normal), and the Dow Jones falls
12%. Black Tuesday is the beginning of the Great
Depression.
5. New York City. 29 October 1929.
Charles Luciano is abducted, beaten, and left for dead, but
survives. Earning the nickname: Lucky. He’s partnered with

of the famous family. He’s already withdrawn most of his
money from the market. What did he know?
What are the ties between the mob and Kennedy?
6. Los Angeles, California. 29 October 1969.
There was a time when there was no Internet.
Hard to believe, isn’t it? At several
universities, under the auspices of ARPANET, a
system is built to send messages between
computers.
7. Los Angeles, California. 29 October 1969.
UCLA student Charley Kline attempts to transmit the text
“login” to a computer at the Stanford Research Institute
over the first link on the ARPANET. After the letters “l” and

ever sent on the Internet “lo”.
And the first Internet crash.

That night, fate deals them another cruel blow. An avalanche
sweeps over the plane, killing eight of the survivors. The
remaining survivors are trapped for 3 days, before being

incredible journey through the Andes Mountains to get help.
10. 29 October 1980
Operation Eagle Claw, the mission to rescue the hostages in Iran
failed in April 1980. Unknown to most, a second mission was
planned. It had special requirements to avoid the problems of the
first mission. Most important: a C-130 transport plane modified
with rockets that could land and take off inside a soccer stadium.
The mission was called: Operation Credible Sport.
11. Eglin Air Force Base. 29 October 1980.
The final test run for the C-130 is being

rockets fire early, and the right wing explodes and
is severed from the plane.
Credible Sport is canceled.

history, because they never happened. As far
as we know.

Meyer Lansky, Lucky Luciano & Bugsy Siegal learn about the
pending stock market crash from Kennedy?
The last test flight of Credible Sport succeeds and a 2nd Iranian
Hostage Mission is launched?
The first attempt at an Internet message was a complete failure?
Everyone on that crashed airplane died in the avalanche?
A religious Prince is born in England at the turn of the millennium?
15. Our timeline is being attacked. If the Shadow
can change six events in the past, on the same
day in different years, it will cause a Time
Tsunami and our timeline will be wiped out.

obliteration is: Time Patrol
