The Demon Core was one of the first nuclear
cores developed at Los Alamos during World war
II. It claimed the lives of several scientists.

The Demon Core killed two scientists at Los
Alamos when each made a mistake.
According to official records, the Demon
Core no longer exists. That’s true. It’s just
not in our timeline any more.

After the war, the Demon Core helped open
the first Rift at Area 51 in 1947…
and coming through
that Rift were deadly
beings of pure energy,
called Fireflies. They
could go into and
control animate and
inanimate objects.

In response, the Nightstalkers were formed.
They have stood between humanity and the
Fireflies and have been shutting Rifts ever since.
