In 1952, Florence attempted to swim the 26 miles/ 42 kilometer between
Catalina Island and the California coastline. After 15 hours and 55 minutes,
with only a half mile to go, Chadwick felt that she couldn't go on any further
and asked to be taken out of the water due to heavy fog.

When asked why she failed, she
answered «I couldn’t see the goal»

This time too, a thick fog surrounded her as she swam, but when
the reporter asked why she succeeded this time and not the last,

CXO’s are not happy
There is a big information gap
One of the more striking findings in this year’s survey is the fact that the
‘information gap’ – the gap between the data CEOs need and what they get
has not closed in the ten years since we last asked them these questions.

Editor's Notes Does anyone know who is this lady?
Her name is Florence Chadwick and she was a long-distance swimmer.
In 1952, Florence attempted to swim the 26 miles/ 42 kilometer between Catalina Island and the California coastline. As she began, she was flanked by small boats that watched for sharks and were prepared to help her if she got hurt or grew tired. After about 15 hours a thick fog set in. Florence began to doubt her ability, and she told her mother, who was in one of the boats, that she did not think she could make it. She swam for another hour before asking to be pulled out, unable to see the coastline due to the fog. As she sat in the boat, she found out she had stopped swimming just one mile (1,5 km) away from her destination.[5] - I could not see the goal.
Two months later, she tried again. The same thick fog set in, but she succeeded in reaching Catalina. She said that she kept a mental image of the shoreline in her mind while she swam. She later swam the Catalina channel on two additional occasions.[4]
We all need to see the goal with what we are doing? Does anyone know who is this lady?
