  2. 2. THE FUNCTION OF NUTRITION <ul><li>The function of nutrition gives our cells all the energy the need to perform their life processes. </li></ul><ul><li>Not all foods give us the same type of nutrients. </li></ul>
  3. 3. THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM it is in charge of digestion which transforms the food we eat into the nutrients our cells need. DIGESTION is the process in which food changes into nutrients .

THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM <ul><li>THE RESPIRATORY SYSTEM it is in charge of breathing, </li></ul><ul><li>Which takes oxygen from the air to help cells get energy. </li></ul><ul><li>BREATHING is the process where takes in oxygen and relases carbon dioxide.They have two processes: </li></ul><ul><li>Lung ventilation </li></ul><ul><li>Exchange of gases </li></ul>

THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM <ul><li>THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM it filters the blood, takes out waste substances, and transports them to take them outside the body throught excretion. </li></ul><ul><li>EXCRETION is the elimination of the waste substances collected in the blood that cells have produced. </li></ul><ul><li>The excretory system is made up of : </li></ul><ul><li>Sweat glands </li></ul><ul><li>Urinary system : kidneys and urinary tract </li></ul>

THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM <ul><li>THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM it transports nutrients and oxygen to all the cells in the body and it collects waste substances produced by cells. </li></ul><ul><li>Circulation is the transportation of blood throught the circulatory system. It is made up of: </li></ul><ul><li>Heart </li></ul><ul><li>Blood: is a red liquid tissue made up of cells that float in a nutritious liquid called plasma. </li></ul><ul><li>Blood vessels: arteries,veins and capillares </li></ul>

THE HEART AND CIRCULATION <ul><li>THE HEART it is a muscular organ located in the chest . </li></ul><ul><li>It is between two parts separated by a wall called the heart septum . </li></ul><ul><li>The heart is divided into two cavities : </li></ul><ul><li>Atrium </li></ul><ul><li>Ventricle </li></ul>
