0 Concept Development Identify issues and explore potential options. Costs

1 Initiative Proposal Preliminary overview presented to the Board, with an

to produce a project plan.
2 Project Plan Board-level advisory committee appointed. Full project
plan, costing and business plan presented to Board for
funding and approval.
3 Development Initiative approved and funded, enters the development
phase.
4 Incubation Service Initiative is running but not yet self-sustaining.
Responsibility transferred from Director of Strategic
Initiatives to Crossref staff.
Production Service The goal of all initiatives will be to become self-
sustaining and integrated with CrossRef’s standard
operations.
