Wagner Dodge was the Foreman. He had not become acquainted with the men early in the season because he was doing maintenance work on the station. He left his men for several minutes while they were most in need of leadership. Then when he told them to drop their heavy gear many refused. He failed to communicate his intentions clearly enough when he decided to light a back fire. He and two others survived, 12 were lost.
Or should the message stand on it’s own. If the message is compelling enough the rest of the stuff doesn’t matter.
