I'm an Apache Lucene/Solr expert, offering my skills as an independent consultant. I do "Solr audits" in which I assess how Solr is being used to give advise on using it better. I do Solr training. And what I enjoy doing the most is customizing/enhancing or writing plugins for Lucene/Solr when out-of-the-box it falls short. I particularly like solving hard & performance-sensitive problems. More broadly I'm a full-stack web developer with experience at all tiers from HTML/CSS/JavaScript up front, to Java, Grails, and Spring, to Lucene/Solr and SQL relational databases and a dabbling in some NoSQL stores.
