Conjunction
- is a part of speech that
    connects two words,
   sentences, phrases or
     clauses together.
Coordinating
Conjunction
 - is a word which joins
        together two
 independent clauses or
          phrases.
Connecting word
uses in Coordinating
 AND
     Conjunction
     - is used to join two or more
     similar expressions or ideas.

 Ex. John and Ana watches a
   movie.

      The Philippines and Thailand are
     Asian countries.
    OR
    - joins two contrasting or
    alternative ideas together.

Ex. Did you go out or stay right
  here?

    we could go to the park or to the
    library.
    BUT
    - is to express contrast. It connects
    an affirmative and a negative
    statement.

Ex. My friend invited me to a party
  but I do not want to go.

     Kim wants to play but she is not
    yet done with her homeworks.
  SO
  - it introduces an effect in a cause-
  effect relationship between two
  ideas.
Ex. She arrived early at the market,
  so she got the freshest goods.

    Wear your raincoat so you don't
    get wet.
     YET
    - is used to add information in the
    sentence.
    - It also used to present contrast or
    exceptional.

Ex. The sun is warm yet the air is cool.

     John plays basketball well yet his
    favorite sport is badminton.
    NOR
    - is used for emphasis the statement
    in negative sentence.

Ex. She did not see it nor did they.

     He is not rich nor famous.
DIRECTION: try to fill in the blanks using the appropriate
     coordinating conjunction.

1.    Ana was cold,          he put on a coat.
2.     Maria tried to read a novel in French,           it was too
      difficult.
3.     To get from Vancouver to Victoria, you can fly,            you
      can ride the ferry.
