(ICAO) Demand for meat is forecast to rise by more than 55% between 1997 and 2020 and to double by 2050. (IFPRI) Global demand for major grains, such as maize, rice, and wheat, is to increase by nearly 48% from 2000-2025 and by 70% between 2000 and 2050. (IFPRI) Global use of gas rises by more than 50% from 2010 levels to account for ¼ of global energy demand by 2035, but with over 3.5°C warming. (IEA, Golden Age of Natural Gas). After a dip caused by the financial crisis in 2009, 2010 CO 2 ended 5% up from the previous record in 2008. (IEA) CO 2 Future Scenarios
