This was a television series ahead of its time. In watching the rerun of this particular episode (https://youtu.be/5SlztIguGRI), it is uncanny and eerie how bang on this scenario was.

La Femme Nikita Premonitions Post-911 Middle East Crisis

Because they sometimes make the best stories,
television shows and movies often mirror real life.
But what about a series that offers up a moment in
history โ before it happens?
Thatโs the occasional gift from one of my favorite
productions.
La Femme Nikita is a compelling drama about a
secret government agency that battles terrorism on
a global scale.
A couple of years ago, I wrote a blog entry about an
episode that talked about using airplanes as bombs
for key buildings.
The clip below looks at a real-world possibility in
international relations. Section One lets Western
governments keep dictators like Saddam Hussein in
power to minimize chaos but also to keep control
over the Middle East. What happened when in real
life, Hussein was removed? The same can be said
about Egypt, and what could happen in Syria. You can see what has, is, and could be happening in the Middle
East when you watch this.
If this series was created post September 2001, it might be a no-brainer. But the final season ended early
2001 and the episodes in question aired in 1998.
It is worth noting, although it is doubtful world leaders are using this series as their game plan for history, but
hey, if the shoe fits. Although, I did read somewhere that Russian President Vladimir Putin once had a crush
on Peta Wilson, the actress who played Nikita.
