2. Aims of E-SLP project:
• Defining the concept and position of Short Learning Programmes (SLPs)
• Empowering university leadership and staff, including
developing institutional policies and frameworks
• Developing guidelines for collaborative SLPs and
related mobility and raising their European outreach
• Mainstreaming SLPs as a specific area of university
provision, next to degree education and open
education
3. 3 key elements
that make E-SLP being a
Forward-Looking Cooperation Project:
• Online/blended SLPs are flexible and scalable to serve
large numbers, needed to close the knowledge and
skills gap in Europe
• SLPs also keep innovative knowledge and skills of
workforce up to date
• SLPs better anticipate on careers of tomorrow than
degree programmes
4. 3 main characteristics of E-SLP partnership:
• 15 partners covering 13 EU countries
• Open and distance teaching universities
together with conventional universities
• Strong commitment to long term impacts
of SLPs and to institutional strategies
beyond project life time
5. 3 main project results contributing to
improving the EU education landscape:
• Analysis and blueprint for institutional
and governmental policies and strategies
• Pilots on collaborative SLPs resulting in
models and guidelines for development
and for QA / recognition of SLPs
• Portal with SLP offering
