4. 3-Steps to Avoid Plagiarism
1. Portion of book or journal is
in quotation marks.
2. After quotation end, author’s
last name in parentheses.
3. Citation included in
bibliography.

According to scientist, Window Lemon, “the
sun lights the Earth while the Earth turns on
its axis every 24 hours” (Lemon).

5. Paraphrasing is allowed, but you
should still cite the area in the
paper and in your bibliography.
Here’s an example!
Authors words: “The sun lights the
Earth while the Earth turns on its
axis every 24 hours” (Lemon).
Your words: The Earth is lit by the
sun while it turns (Lemon).
Add it into your bibliography and
you’re good to go – you’re not
plagiarizing!
