• Data flows and Portability
• Federation of cloud resources is the way forward
• Need to have computing resources aside data stores
• Need to replicate and synchronize reference data
• Vendor lock-in
• Concern on the adoption of standards by industry
• Still complex preparation of VMIs, contextualization is easier
for final users
• Variety of solutions however increases complexity
• Need for differentiation
• Research infrastructures cannot compete in cost with public
clouds – need to provide not covered functionality
