4. INTRODUCTION
SCC, was first introduced in the late 1986’s by
Japanese researchers
Also known as
“ SELF - CONSOLIDATING CONCRE TE ’’
& “ SUPER WORKABLE CONCRETE ’’
Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is an innovative
concrete
It is able to flow under its own weight, completely filling
formwork and achieving full compaction
8. ACHIVEMENT OF SCC
Reduce volume of ratio of Aggregate to the
cementations materials
Increase the Water Cement ratio
Grading Coarse Aggregate & Fine Aggregate Content
Use Powdered material or Admixtures to modifying
viscosity
Use super plasticizers for high mobility
19. SOME EXAMPLES OF SCC STRUCTURE
•Year of built : 2009
•SCC volume : 250000 cubic meter
•Location: Dubai
•Project Highlights:
- Highest amount of SCC
-Tallest building
Case Example : Burj Khalifa
22. CONCLUSION
22
SCC with high workability, proper strength, and
adequate durability can be produced using locally
available materials.
Attention must be paid to formwork, segregation, and
shrinkage.
