May 2015
Greetings!
April was National Volunteer Month and we are so grateful for the incredible cadre of
volunteers who make our program possible all year long. We could not do our work
without you!
This year, 3,457 volunteers served a total of 73,794 hours.
Of those volunteers:
102 volunteers served breakfast (from 5-7am!)
1,044 volunteers served dinner, restaurant-style
1,362 volunteers put on programs and workshops for our residents and
guests
469 volunteers made bag dinners for our overflow guests
96 resident volunteers helped with laundry, janitorial and admin tasks
336 volunteers collected in-kind donations to support our efforts
304 volunteers completed administrative tasks
...and more!
In honor of Volunteer month we will be doing a drawing for some special treats.
Volunteers who have served with WHRC during the month of April will have a chance
to win. We really appreciate your time, energy and effort! Thank you again, for serving
those most in need.
Blessings,
Beth Awalt, Volunteer Manager

"In life it is not possible to do great things, but it is possible to do small things with great love. You can do what I can't do. I can do what you
can't do. Together we can do something beautiful for God." -Mother Teresa, the inspiration for staff, volunteers and clients at WHRC
