registered as a national arboretum. Because our future relies on it, Adelphi
uses only 100 percent natural, organic techniques to maintain our grounds
and sustain a fuel-efficient environment.
A TALE OF TWO CITIES There’s something magical about a sprawling
75-acre campus on the edge of the greatest city on
Earth. This is our Garden City—set apart by natural beauty, alive with academic life and surrounded
by all the resources and support of a great university. Find your focus and set your course without
distraction. And at our doorstep lie the unparalleled opportunities and excitement of New York City.
You get the best of both worlds: a true university experience just minutes from the cultural and financial

areas of study and hundreds of
on-campus resources, we have
a well-established reputation
for academic excellence. Of
equal importance to us: your
individual experience. Gain
new insights that complement
your classwork and prepare
you for your career.
ENHANCE. Our signature academic
programs reward hard work and push
you further, faster toward your goals.
Enrich your education with an international
perspective as a Levermore Global
Scholar (LGS). Earn your bachelor’s and
master’s degrees in just five years through our

research opportunities and internships as
a member of our Honors College.
Or perhaps you’re looking to double down
and tackle two degrees at once. You can
work toward a dual degree in engineering
(B.A. and B.S.) in four years through our
partnership with Columbia University or
pursue a degree in dentistry through our
partnership with New York University’s
College of Dentistry. When you already
know where your career is headed, our
Joint Degree and Dual Degree programs
get you there faster. See the complete
list at joint-degree.adelphi.edu.
SUPPORT. We want you to get the
most out of your time here. From casual
study groups to one-on-one tutoring and
peer mentoring to professionally designed
learning experiences, we’re ready to
help. If your academic potential is greater
than your academic credentials, our
General Studies program gets you up
to speed and ready to excel. Bridges to
Adelphi helps students with nonverbal
or neurosocial learning disorders through

9. WHATEVER YOUr
MAJOR, YOU’LL HAVE
A PROFESSOR WHO
LOVES TEACHING IT.
Our faculty members are
leaders. They’re researchers,
writers, artists and innovators
who actively contribute to their
fields. In class, they have one
focus: you. We believe that
access fuels success. If you
have a question outside of
class, walk into your professor’s
office. If you want to know
more about your major, just talk
to the head of your department.
LEARN FROM THE BEST. Our professors
are amazing. They’re Guggenheim Fellows
and Fulbright Scholars. They win grants
from the National Endowment for the Arts
and the National Institutes of Health. They’re
published authors and Pulitzer Prize winners.
They are sought-after speakers at conferences
from Cairo, Egypt, to Darwin, Australia, to
right here at home in New York City.
“Our faculty are highly credentialed, very
accomplished, but they also have a
commitment to connecting that excellence to
their students. They become actively engaged
with the students’ learning process. They
construct their professional lives in a way that
supports student excellence. We are an
institution that really values teaching. The
students come first, and we want them to have
a very rich experience and to be successful.”
GAYLE D. INSLER, PH.D.
Provost, Adelphi University
A NEW WAY OF THINKING. Our
classrooms are think tanks. They’re engines
of innovation. This is the time to engage in
exhilarating discussions and lectures that pull
you in. This is learning at its highest level—
with professors who love what they teach,
and students who love how they teach it.
In the words of Provost Insler, “Today’s big
problems do not reside in a single discipline.
Our faculty come here ready to cross these
knowledge boundaries. They appreciate
interdisciplinary work, and they’re ready to
engage with students on that basis. We are
constantly looking at what’s happening in the
world—the new jobs that are likely to emerge,
the new responsibilities that students are likely
to have—and we try to find appropriate ways
to address those issues. It’s not just about
courses or education. It’s looking at the world
in a new way while you’re in school so you
can be more effective when you leave school.”
“My favorite aspect of Adelphi is the professors.
They are really great. You can always go to them
for help, and I’ve made really good connections
with my professors. I’m in their offices all the time.
They have helped me with internships and grad
school. They’ve been a really great part of
the community.”
