3. ENCOURAGING THE
RELENTLESS PURSUIT
OF AN INJURY-FREE
WORKPLACE
Communities around the world rely on farmers
and agriculture workers to produce food that
nourishes families.
That’s why Mosaic works to share its relentless
pursuit of an injury-free workplace with
customers and peers—from our phosphate and
potash mines, to retailer market distribution
and crop nutrient field application.
As our industry works to increase food security,
let’s join together to encourage and implement
the use of agricultural safety best practices
across all aspects of food production.

WITH
YOUAt Mosaic, our commitment to safety
extends beyond our facilities and into
our communities.
We’re proud to partner with the
Progressive Agriculture Foundation in
making farm, ranch and rural life safer and
healthier for children and their families.
Set a great safety example for kids—
and watch them walk in your footsteps.
At Mosaic, we’re driven by our mission to help the world grow the
food it needs—and we’re committed to improving our communities.

From our Florida phosphate facilities to our Saskatchewan potash mines,
Mosaic produces vital crop nutrients needed to enrich farmers’ soil and grow
more food. Each year, we take action to improve the manufacturing efficiency
of our products. In 2012, Mosaic satisfied 39 percent of companywide
electrical demand through cogeneration—the process of making electricity
from waste heat that could be otherwise lost. This process eliminated approxi-
mately 1 million tonnes of potential carbon dioxide emissions—the equivalent
of taking approximately 195,000 cars off the road. In recognition of our carbon
management and environmental impact efforts, Mosaic was recognized by
CDP’s S&P 500 Climate Performance and Disclosure Leadership indices.

8. Our mission is to help the world grow the food it needs.
As the world’s largest global combined supplier of phosphate and potash fertilizers, we employ approximately 8,000
people worldwide — not only in providing farmers with essential crop nutrients, but also in land reclamation, water
stewardship, wildlife management and other endeavors to help sustain the land and our quality of life. As a global
corporate citizen, we’re equally committed to improving local communities and economies with stable jobs, charitable
giving and employee volunteerism.
Meanwhile, the Mosaic Villages Project is a physical manifestation of our mission, where with the help of our products,
agronomic expertise and financial support, farmers involved in Guatemala, India, and eight countries in Africa are moving
from not having enough food to eat to producing a surplus. Our efforts to partner with stakeholders broadly and provide
innovative growing solutions are already paying off for our company, and the global farming community.
