3. Industry Most of these films where low-budget black and white B-movies which would precede the main "colour" feature Black and white was quickly being replaced in the movie industry Many B-movies still managed to achieve huge cult status in later years.
4. Genre Changes In the 1950s films changed to a more sci-fi genre with such films as ‘war of the worlds’ and ‘The day the earth stood still’. However there was still a market for monsters from Earth such as ‘Dracula’ ‘Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ and ‘ Hound of the Baskerville’
