The Indian equity market closed in the green extending its winning streak to fifth consecutive trading session. After opening with a positive bias, indices were stuck in a narrow trading range.

 The Indian equity market closed in the green extending its winning streak to fifth consecutive trading session.
After opening with a positive bias, indices were stuck in a narrow trading range.
 Finally, the BSE Sensex ended with a gain of 72 points at 26,726. The BSE Sensex opened at 26,695 touched an
intra-day high of 26,795 and low of 26,623. The NSE Nifty closed with a gain of 22 points at 8,179. The NSE
Nifty opened at 8,166 hitting a high of 8,200 and low of 8,151.
 The Nifty opened at an eight month high. However, the index faced difficulty near the highest Call base of
8200 and finally ended only 22 points higher. Nifty futures premium settled at 16 points. India VIX rose 4.7% to
15.95
 FIIs bought | 356 crore while DIIs sold | 211 crore in the cash segment. FIIs bought | 556 crore in index futures
and | 1242 crore in index options. In stock futures, they sold | 378 crore
 The highest Put base is at the 8000 strike with 53 lakh shares while the highest Call base is at 8400 Call strike
with 36 lakh shares. The 8400 and 8500 Call strikes saw additions of 5.6 lakh and 3.0 lakh shares, respectively.
The 8000 and 8100 Put strikes saw additions of 14.9 lakh and 6.7 lakh shares, respectively
 Nifty Future: The Nifty is likely to open flat to positive on the back of mixed global cues. It is likely to trade in
the range of 8140-8250. Buy Nifty in the range of 8165-8175 for targets of 8205-8225, stop loss: 8150
 Bank Nifty Future: The index ended almost at par near the sizeable Call base of 17500 on the back of short cov-
ering. We feel the short covering is likely to continue above 17500, which will further take the index higher.
Buy Bank Nifty in the range of 17380-17420, targets: 17550-17650, stop loss: 17310
