2. Pastor’s Notes
We are going through a difficult time, but we are not alone—we are with one another and we have the assur-
ance that God and his Son, Jesus Christ, are both with us and his Holy Spirit, surrounds and guides us each and
every day. The Psalms are a model of honest prayer that speak to every part of our lives.
Psalm 107:1-8
1 O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever.
2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
those he redeemed from trouble
3 and gathered in from the lands,
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south.
4 Some wandered in desert wastes,
finding no way to an inhabited town;
5 hungry and thirsty,
their soul fainted within them.
6 Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress;
7 he led them by a straight way,
until they reached an inhabited town.
8 Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love,
for his wonderful works to humankind.
I have gone on retreat to the Genesee Abbey in Piffard, NY, several times. We were to maintain silence except
when we gathered with the monks five times a day to pray the Psalms. During the week, they pray all 150
Psalms. It was a wonderfully refreshing and stimulating spiritual experience.
Psalm 107 is a song of “Thanksgiving for Deliverance From Many Troubles” This psalm challenges us to think
about the times God has delivered us from fear, loneliness and anxiety!
We need to thank God who is good and whose steadfast love endures forever!

ers and congregation safe. If you are interested
in joining us, let me know!

gram - which means that no one is too
young or too old to participate! There
will be parts with speaking lines and non
–speaking parts also. The music will be
familiar to all. Costumes and props will
be provided! One rehearsal will be held
on Sunday, Dec. 13, immediately follow-
ing worship. Marie will distribute parts

Jesus Loves the Little Children..
And the Big Kids, Too!
We have been having a great time at Bible Buddies
this year learning about The Fruits of the Spirit,
Galatians 5:22-23, while singing, hearing stories,
eating yummy snacks, making crafts and playing
games. We have been doing all of this while wear-
ing our masks, washing our hands often and so-
cial distancing. The best part of Bible Buddies is
being together with our friends!
All kids ages 4-6th grade and Youth helpers in
grades 7-12, are invited to join us for Bible Bud-
dies. The next several gatherings are Sundays
November 15, December 13 and January 17 from
5:30-7:30. Friends are always welcome. Masks are
required of all children, as well as adults who
drop kids off and those who are working in the
program.
Thank you to Evelyn and Larry Hinson for the
great snack each month at Bible Buddies and to
Nate & Krissy Lockwood for helping with whatever
is needed.
Children & youth will participate in the intergen-
erational Christmas program, “Wow! A Christmas
Nativity,” on Sunday, Dec. 20, during the worship
service.
A yearly calendar for children and youth activities
is available in the church office.
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me…”

“Treats and Eats” THANK YOU!
Thank you to everyone who par-
ticipated in our Drive-Thru
“Treats and Eats” mission event
on October 31. There was such
an out-pouring of generosity as folks do-
nated bags of groceries, food for the free
meal, candy for the kids’ treat bags, mon-
ey to help purchase items such as carry-
out containers and other miscellaneous
items. We also appreciate the folks who
volunteered during or before the event to
pack treat bags and hang posters, cook
hotdogs, pack meals or to distribute items
outside. This was truly a whole church
family project!
Pastor Jim (Mathatas) Scott will be turning 70 on
November 18. Due to Covid-19, no party is being
planned; but if you would like to send a card, his ad-
