This document summarizes a workshop for teachers on using resources from Europeana, a digital platform providing access to European cultural heritage. The objectives of the workshop are to inspire teachers to use curated searches, Europeana Radio, and transcription projects; to inform teachers of new developments; and to get feedback on what resources teachers have used and found useful. The workshop covers exploring Europeana by color, people, topics, time periods, and language; participating in transcription projects; and upcoming features like a photography collection and entity API. Teachers are also asked to provide feedback on what Europeana resources they have used.

15. Transcribathon
Interested? Host your own event!
• Upper secondary school pupils (15+)
• In the context of a history lesson
• Working in groups of 4 max
• Select manuscripts to work on
• A couple of hours work during school, or over a longer
period
• Pupils must present (via a powerpoint template we can
provide) the story, introduce the protagonist(s) and show
that they understand the historical context
• Discuss lessons learnt during the exercise
• Pupils are graded by number of words/documents
transcribed, quality (of transcription and presentation)
