1. Mass Maintenance of Time Streams in APO
Document objective:
List the steps needed to maintain shipping and warehouse calendars in APO locations
Why are Time Streams needed?
Calendars in APO are stored in special structure called time streams because APO supports
planning and scheduling at granularity of less than a day. So a day can be further split into
several fine buckets. Several programs in APO or programs called from ECC read time
streams. If no time streams are assigned to locations (calendar tab), all days 24x7 are
treated as work days for all planning and scheduled activities in sales, delivery, shipping,
planning and production activities.
For example: A scheduled sales order can have planned goods issue date or loading date on
a non-working day if the time stream is not assigned to the location or the time stream is
not correctly generated.
Steps to create time streams
a) Check correctness of factory calendars assigned to plants in ECC
b) Import calendars into APO
c) Create Time Streams from these calendars in APO - /SAPAPO/CALENDAR
d) Assign Time Streams in Mass using MASSD
Procedure for each step
a) Check correctness of factory calendars assigned to the plants (any location type) in ECC
Review holiday calendars in ECC. Check they are correctly updated in all factory
calendars
b) Import calendars into APO
Menu path: AD4>RSA1>Source system>Transfer global settings
2. Click on transfer global settings. Check Factory calendar. Run in simulation mode first to
test the results and then run in Update mode.
c) Create Time Streams from these calendars in APO
T-Code: /SAPAPO/CALENDAR
Create a time stream for each factory calendar. If a single factory calendar is used for all
plants in a given geo, then only single time stream is adequate though multiple times
3. streams can be created with reference to the same basic factory calendar for making
working time distinction across warehouses if any.
Name the time streams for easy identification of purpose. e.g. SCHED_7787 will imply
that this is calendar used for scheduling delivery related processes in warehouse
(location) 7787.
Click on create
Give a name to the calendar for easy identification
Header Data
Enter
Years in the past= e.g. 2
Years in future = e.g. 5
Select working time calendar
Select the factory calendar reference e.g. NZ
Calculation Rule: Select the rule for generation of working times. The basis can be week,
month or a shift. Shift will give the highest granularity and will represent non-working times
at a finer level.
4. Now enter the working times per shift per week day. E.g. a 24 hour warehouse working 5
days a week can have shift times as below
Generate the periods by clicking on
5. Save the time stream. The time stream is now created and ready to be assigned to a
location
d) Assign Time Streams in Mass using MASSD
T-Code MASSD
Make selections as shown below. Enter all plants to which time streams need to be assigned
Click on save in the background
6. The time streams are now assigned to the chosen locations
This can be checked by going into any location using /SAPAPO/LOC3 > Display > calendar tab
