What do you think your lab is strong at?
-Routine soil , plant, water and fertilizer analysis for
agronomic purposes
-Standard and modern soil test equipment (ICP-OES, AAS, MIR,
XRF)
-Training Laboratory technicians in soil analysis
What do you think it could be improved?
Scaling up the use of MIR, XRF and other modern
technologies in soil testing
6. What are your expectations out of this meeting and
GLOSOLAN?
-To revive the collaboration and mutual training among
soil testing laboratories building on the gains from
SPALNA (Soil and Plant analytical Laboratories Network of Africa)
-To facilitate the establishment of credible proficiency
testing in Africa for soil labs
-Advocate for closer links of soil testing labs to the
farmers and agricultural extension services.
