World Health Organization's Definition:
“Health is a state of complete physical, mental
and social well-being and not merely the absence
of disease or illness.”

3. Health Condition in Pakistan
• After 18th
amendment in constitution of Pakistan,
health is now subject of provincial government.
• There is a window of opportunity to make strong
improvements in the health sector after its
devolution to provinces.

improvement of health sector.

are easily spread through personal contact, water, and air.
Infectious disease still remains a major problem in Pakistan,
chronic diseases, including such non-communicable
conditions as cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and
respiratory disease, are now the major cause of death and
disability.
