The AGS Laboratories Safety Manual
Has been reviewed and updated and is now available
(on the NEW website)

Geotechnical Laboratory Standards:
UK input into CEN/ISO standards on Geotechnical Laboratory testing
Parts 1 (water content) and 2 (bulk density) Published 31/12/2014, BS EN
ISO 17892-1 and BS EN ISO 17892-2
Parts 3 (Density of Solid Particles) and 4 (Particle Size Distribution) will be
published around mid-year.
Parts 5 (incremental oedometer) and 6 (fall cone) are in public review now
(BSI website until 18 April). Will be published around the end of the year.

Input into future of BS1377 Parts 1-8 – major changes needed
as a result of CEN/ISO standards on Geotechnical Laboratory
testing – what is the future
Input into the revision of BS5930, to be published later this
year (summer?)

Continuing our brief in general
but in particular:
An Introduction to Geotechnical Laboratory Testing for Routine
Construction Projects – is being reviewed and updated
AGS PowerPoint presentation “Ground Investigation Testing” - is being
reviewed and updated
AGS guide “The Selection of Geotechnical Soil Laboratory Testing” - is
being reviewed and updated (your views welcome)
