2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
3. I have chosen to compare this picture of The Wombats with the photographs from my magazine to explain how my magazine represents a particular social group. The Wombats My images for The (fake) Wombats
4. The postures of members in the band are very similar. They share similar facial expressions as they are both trying to pose and most of them are not looking at the camera, with the majority wearing sunglasses. In addition to this, both men are wearing similar costumes with the use of the red coloured shirt with a suit being worn on top and the use of the white shirt used for the main member. As well as this, the background setting is very similar as both pictures were taken inside and lighting was key when capturing the images. However, the lighting used in the photos is slightly different with one using a studio, though I didn’t have the income to afford this so I used a room, but we get a similar effect as they are both inside. Also, they have similar hairstyles where both of the main members have longer bushier hair than the rest of the band covering their face. Overall I think that these elements of the photos represent a young unique social group and that my magazine reflects this throughout . The people featured in my magazine are quite normal looking yet with a slight difference, for example a different hair style or different facial expressions to what a normal appearance seems to look like which I feel fits well in my magazine which is all about Indie music.
