The GOLDstein Family Challenge The ChallengeThe GOLDstein Family Challenge Statement 2,013 1,800  “The Goldstein Family challenges all 1,600 1,400 young alumni to reach new heights of 1,088* 1,200 participation in Annual Giving by 1,000 participating in The GOLDstein Family 800 Challenge. The challenge is simple, if 600 400 2,013 young alumni make a contribution 200 to the University of Miami in FY13, the Goldstein Family will make a $25,000 contribution to need-based student scholarships.” *As of 2/13/13

Why Young Alumni?: The Challenge Young/GOLD alumni (graduates of the last decade) offer a great opportunity for increased engagement and philanthropy. Only 8% of young alumni gave in FY12 compared with an overall participation rate of 15% in FY12. 2,013 FY13 Donors* FY12 Goal 0 500 1000 1500 2000 2500 *FY12 number represents total donors, not YTD. Young Alumni Volunteers Needed Become a:  Participant (Accept the Challenge)  Ambassador (Promote the Challenge)  Leader (Lead the Challenge) Help UM receive:  $25,000 to need-based scholarships  $20,000 to support student internships at the School of Communication  $20,000 contribution to support student travel educational fund at the School of Architecture
  5. 5. The Solution is U! Participant: Accept the Challenge Make your challenge gift Tweet about the challenge to your friends at least once per month Share your GOLDstein Challenge donor badge to your Facebook wall at least once a month

Ambassador: Promote the Challenge Make your challenge gift Tweet about the challenge to your friends at least twice per month Share your GOLDstein Challenge donor badge to your Facebook wall at least twice a month Attend club functions to promote the challenge Attend a calling session with Sean Ask at least 10 friends and classmates to make a gift

Leader: Lead the Challenge Make your challenge gift Join Sean and the Young Alumni Leadership Council in leading the charge Tweet about the challenge to your friends weekly and as updates become available Share your GOLDstein Challenge donor badge to your Facebook wall periodically Every month during the challenge, ask at least 10 friends and classmates to make a gift Attend two or more calling sessions with Sean Record a shout-out and share through social media Participate in the planning and execution of regional rallies
