New Year All Americans celebrate New Year’s Eve on the 31st of December.  British people don’t like this holiday and go to sleep before midnight. Young people in London go to Trafalgar  square to see the New Year’s Day in there. At midnight they  sing   New Year songs and wish   a happy New Year to each other.
It is also a memorable occasion to make New Year's resolutions.

Christmas People send X-mas cards to their friends and relatives. People buy  Christmas trees and decorate them with toys, tinsels,  coloured balls and lights.  Children wake up early to find stockings full of small presents on their bed.
Christmas Dinner The typical dinner consists of turkey  with potatoes and other vegetables  such as carrots and sprouts.  In Britain this is followed by Christmas  pudding - a sweet pudding containing  a lot of dried fruit and often covered  with burning brandy. Other traditional  dish in Britain is a Christmas cake –  a cake containing a lot of dried fruit  and usually having a covering of icing .

The 14th of  February is called Valentine’s Day . It is a day of lovers. That is when every man and every woman thinks about his or her sweetheart. On this day you can buy cards in shops or you can make cards yourselves.   Violets are blue Roses are red, Sugar is sweet And so are you!
